Identify the locations and functions of the heart.

The heart is a muscle that pumps blood to all


parts of you body through blood vessels. It is

Identify the locations and functions of the lungs.

Lungs are the organs that allow us to breathe. They are in the thorax and, like the
heart , they are slo protected by the rib cage. When we inhale, air enters the
lungs, and oxygen from the air enters the [Link] the blood carries oxygen
from the lungs to the heart. From the heart, the oxygen is pumped to the rest of
the body. The body uses the oxygen it needs and then exhales the same air, but
with less oxygen. Exhaled air also takes carbon dioxide out of the body.

Identify the locations and functions of the stomach.

Swallowing

Food gives us energy for all our daily activities. Food enters through the
mouth, where you chew it and break it into little pieces with your [Link],
it is swallowed and goes down the esophagus and into the stomach. In the
stomach, the food is mixed and broken up into similar pieces that go to the
intestines. Then, these tiny pieces of food which are nutrients are absorbed
into the blood and are carried to all parts of the body. This is an essential
