PERSONAL & CONFIDENTIAL

ENE PASCAL MMADUABUCHI

21 February 2025

Dear Pascal

Appointment as Care Assistant

Further to your Application in December 2024, I am pleased to offer you an appointment
to the post of a Care Assistant , 11th May 2025. This appointment is conditional
upon:
• Receipt of satisfactory references
International Police Character Report
• Medical clearance Although no longer compulsory, PLUS encourages all of its staff to
• be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and welcome evidence of your vaccination
status or medical exemption.
completion of a satisfactory six-month probationary period
• Completion of the Care Certificate standards.

Once you receive the appointment letter PLUS allows six weeks to complete the pre-
employment checks, including receiving a copy of your signed appointment letter, medical
clearance, satisfactory references from your current and previous employer and DBS
clearance. Police clearance can take longer, and if the Policw clearance is delayed we will
take this into consideration. We recommend that you contact your referees to advise them
that we will be writing to them and ask them to respond quickly. If we do not receive the
required information within six weeks PLUS will withdraw the offer of employment. Should
that be necessary, you are welcome to apply again.

This is an offer of a 44 hours contract and you will be given the opportunity to work hours as
required to cover sickness, leave and for other purposes but there will be no guarantee of
any hours being offered. You will be contacted to establish your availability for any
assignments required but will not be under any obligation to accept them. However, if you
do accept an assignment you will be expected to fulfil this. Should you be unable to do so
you must notify your manager immediately so that alternative arrangements can be made.
Cancellation of agreed assignments and regular non-availability will be carefully monitored
and if the reason is not acceptable, you should notify
your manager if you know that for any prolonged period you will not be available to accept
any assignments. Each assignment will be treated individually and previous assignments will
not count toward any continuity of service.

Your rate of pay will be €14.64 per hour for any shifts worked. Pay scales are reviewed
annually but increases cannot be guaranteed. You will be paid monthly in arrears for any
hours worked on submission of an authorised timesheet. All payments will be payable
monthly, by credit transfer usually on the 23rd of each month, into an appropriate bank or
building society account.
You will be notified of your allocated service at induction, once all pre-employment checks
have been completed and would be expected to provide relief cover primarily to this
service. However, subject to your manager confirming your availability, should you not be
required at this service you may work at any other location within PLUS as may be required.
You may be required to accompany PLUS service users on holiday in the course of your
duties but will not be required to work outside the United Kingdom for a period exceeding
one month.
The duties will be those outlined in the enclosed job description together with any additional
duties that may be allocated from time to time. In particular your attention is drawn to the
requirement to facilitate service user opportunities for employment, recreation, religious and
leisure activities appropriate to the age of the person, making full use of available resources
in the local neighbourhood, and to support service users to organise and go on holidays as
appropriate. It is also important that you read and understand the PLUS Code of Practice.
You are also advised that during any assignment you must attend and work at the dates,
and comply with any reasonable request made to you by the assignment supervisor.
You may be required to work evenings, weekends, waking nights or bank holidays in
accordance with each assignment. In addition, you may be required to sleep in as part of
the assignment for which an additional payment, currently €38.00 per session, is made.
Annual leave is based on a full year's entitlement of 28 days inclusive of statutory public
holidays and will be calculated on the basis of hours worked. These may be taken with the
approval of your manager as appropriate. There is no entitlement to sickness payments.
With the exception of the above your appointment is subject to the conditions of service for
PLUS that are outlined in the Staff Handbook or are available from Human Resources or your
manager. It is also subject to any resolutions of the Board of Trustees or collective
agreements negotiated from time to time with a trade union(s) or staff association(s)
recognised by PLUS for collective bargaining purposes in respect of the employment group
to which you belong.
The minimum period of notice you are required to give/and receive will be 1 week.
If you accept the offer on the terms and conditions stated please sign the enclosed copy of
this letter and written statement of particulars and return them to me within seven days of
the date of this letter.
I hope that this information is clear but if there are any points you would like to discuss,
particularly in relation to the working arrangements outlined in this letter, please let me
know. This is particularly important if you feel that these may affect your acceptance of the
post and if so I would of course be happy to discuss any concerns you may have to see if
there is anything I can do to assist before you finalise your decision.

Yours sincerely

Irene Yesufu
Human Resources Manager
