What are your perceptions and attitudes of Potential Achievers towards your learning abilities as a
potential achiever?

-I see myself as a slow learner because I struggle to keep up with my peers and [Link] math, I
find it difficult to compete with honor students like our president. I also struggle to keep up with
questions on the board and even in English, research, and group activities. I find it hard to interact with
my group mates when there are activities.

[Link] you recall the moment you felt a sense of accomplishment or pride in your learning?

-During quizzes, sometimes I can't answer some questions, while other times I can. Actually, just now we
had a summative test, and I was satisfied because the questions were based on what I reviewed. When
it comes to exams, sometimes I'm satisfied with my scores, but sometimes I'm not.

[Link] you ever felt uncertain or insecure about your learning abilities?

-Yes, sometimes I question myself, wondering if I'm not good enough. I ask myself if I haven't given
enough, if I haven't put in all my effort, and yet I still don't achieve what I want. I feel insecure, especially
during the quarterly honors ceremony. When they call out the names of the honorees and hand out
certificates, I know I'm not included. It hurts because I've given everything, all my effort, sacrifices, even
tears, but it still wasn't enough. Even though I reviewed all our lessons, it wasn't enough. So sometimes I
feel insecure, but at the same time, I'm happy for them because they achieved what they wanted.

[Link] a potential achiever, what challenges do you usually face in learning?

-Actually, there are a lot of things, but I think family problems are a big factor. Sometimes, my problems
at home reflect in school. I can't focus on my academics because I'm preoccupied with solving my
problems at home and figuring out how to overcome everything. There are so many challenges that
come my way, and sometimes I can't achieve what I need to in school because I'm more focused on
myself and the problems at home. Then there are also a lot of challenges at school, like my peers
bullying me about being a slow learner.

[Link] are the coping strategies that best support potential achievers like you?

-With my friends, I often rant about my problems. By ranting to them, I find solutions to those problems.
It motivates me, and it makes me feel lighter. One time, we had a spiritual recollection, and attending it
made me feel lighter too. We talked about our feelings for each other, our problems with our peers,
classmates, and friends, whether classmates or not. We shared our thoughts about ourselves and our
problems. During that spiritual recollection, I learned a lot and felt motivated because I was able to rant
about all my problems. In a way, even if it was small, it helped me. It gave me the strength to regain my
potential as an achiever.
[Link] on your experiences, what advices would you give to other potential achievers like you?

-Never give up because no matter what problems come your way in life, don't give up if you truly desire
to be an achiever. Face your challenges even when things get tough. No matter what problem you
encounter, you can solve it as long as you are determined to be an achiever. I know it's not easy to be an
achiever, but if you are truly dedicated to your studies and you really want to achieve your dreams, you
can do everything. Don't take to heart what others say. Use those words as inspiration to motivate you
and to help you focus on your studies. Use those words as inspiration, don't let them tear you down. If
you take them to heart, you won't be able to focus on your academics and you'll find it hard to cope
with your peers because it will affect you, including your emotional trauma.

[Link] are your thoughts about how people see you as a potential achiever?

-It's like they're emphasizing that we can't keep up with them.

[Link] you recall the moment you felt a sense of accomplishment or pride in your learning?

-Yes, always. Because I like my subjects. Sometimes they're hard, sometimes they're easy, but you can
do it if you learn.

[Link] are the coping strategies that best support potential achievers like you?

-Study and learn it. Listen carefully to your teachers.

[Link], there's nothing else like English, sometimes I feel like my grammar is wrong, and sometimes my

insecure

things as quickly as others.

because i know that my grades are getting low.

I look forward to becoming a potential achiever because I believe I possess the courage, understanding,
and capability to become a successful individual in terms of learning.

When I saw my name on the honor list for the very first time, a feat no one thought I was capable of,
proving them wrong that I could indeed be a successful individual.

Being a slow learner means struggling to understand concepts, even when explained in simple terms,
particularly in math, due to my limited short-term memory.

My parents are my greatest motivation, as they consistently stand by me through every challenge, never
ignoring me. Additionally, my friends are a constant source of support, helping me through difficult
times with our lessons, and always being there to lend a hand.

Just go for it, no matter how difficult it may seem, because the problems we face can serve as
motivation, and from them, we can gain valuable lessons and growth.

Don't judge someone who is a slow learner, for they have the potential to develop their abilities, and
one day they may even surpass you in intelligence and understanding.

Kaycie 2

Honestly, I used to feel frustrated and disappointed with myself because I couldn't understand things as
quickly as others.

When I finally understand something I've been struggling with for a long time. When I finally solved a
math problem that I'd been stuck on for weeks

When others finish assignments quickly and I'm still struggling to understand the instructions.
Forgetting things easily, struggling to keep up with fast-paced lessons, and needing more time to
understand complex concepts.

My supportive family and friends, and the feeling of accomplishment

asking for help when needed

Don't give up! Be patient and always remember that being slow doesn't mean you're not smart.

Sometimes I feel like others think I'm not trying hard enough or that I'm not as capable. But I wish they
could see how hard I'm actually trying.

Potential achievers often view themselves as 'slow learners,' which significantly impacts their attitudes towards education. They experience insecurity and doubt about their abilities, particularly when comparing themselves to peers who seem to grasp concepts more quickly. This perception can lead to feelings of inadequacy and frustration, especially in subjects like math, where quick comprehension is often valued . These feelings might discourage them from fully engaging in academic activities or affect their confidence, however, some manage to find motivation through personal achievements or the support of their families .

Potential achievers use external feedback as a tool for personal growth by assessing their capabilities and adjusting their learning strategies. They interpret feedback—whether from peers or academic assessments—as motivation to work harder and address their perceived limitations . Constructive criticism and recognition during academic evaluations encourage them to enhance their skills and reassure them of their progress, guiding their ongoing efforts to achieve academic success . Additionally, they might interpret negative feedback as an opportunity to defy expectations, thus driving personal development .

Feelings of competition with peers can profoundly affect the emotional well-being of potential achievers. While striving to keep up with or surpass peers can serve as motivation, it can also lead to insecurity and self-doubt when they perceive themselves as unable to compete successfully, particularly in high-stakes or visible areas like exam scores and honors . This internalized competition can cause stress and anxiety, particularly if the achievements of others are seen as a benchmark they struggle to meet . Nonetheless, some transform these feelings into inspiration, pushing themselves to reach their own goals .

Family and social challenges significantly impact the learning experiences of potential achievers. Family problems can preoccupy students' minds, making it hard for them to focus on academics . Additionally, social pressures, including bullying by peers due to perceived learning slowness, further hinder their learning process . Despite these challenges, support from family members can provide much-needed motivation, helping them to persevere in their studies .

Potential achievers often reconcile their feelings of inadequacy with academic goals by focusing on long-term success and by fostering a positive mindset. Despite self-doubt and comparison to others, they emphasize determination and personal growth . Encouragement from supportive networks, such as family and friends, reinforces their motivation and helps them stay focused on their goals despite immediate setbacks . They learn to treat challenges as opportunities for development rather than barriers .

Effective coping strategies for potential achievers facing learning challenges include seeking emotional support and motivation from peers and family, engaging in spiritual activities for emotional relief, and developing personal study habits . Some students find that sharing their problems with friends and participating in structured activities like spiritual recollections can lighten their emotional burden and give them strength . Others choose to focus on steady study routines and careful listening to teachers to overcome academic difficulties .

Achievements can significantly boost the self-motivation of potential achievers, even if they perceive themselves as 'slow learners.' Success in exams or being placed on honor lists serves as tangible proof of their capabilities, countering feelings of inadequacy and reinforcing the belief that they can attain their goals despite challenges . Such achievements transform perceived limitations into strengths, providing a basis for ongoing motivation and resilience in their academic pursuits .

Motivational factors among potential achievers differ significantly, influenced by personal, familial, and social elements. For some, the motivation comes from the sacrifices their parents make to support their education, driving them to persevere . Others are motivated by personal achievements, such as being included on an honor list, which serves as evidence of their capabilities . Additionally, a supportive social environment and encouragement from friends and family can inspire them to continue working towards their academic goals despite challenges . These varying motivational factors demonstrate that each student's drive is shaped by a unique combination of internal desires and external influences. .

Self-perception plays a critical role in the academic performance of potential achievers. Those who view themselves as 'slow learners' or feel insecure about their abilities may struggle with confidence, impacting their participation and performance in class . However, achieving personal milestones, like overcoming difficult tasks or being recognized academically, can positively shift their self-perception, leading to improved motivation and engagement . Thus, fostering a positive self-image is essential for encouraging better academic outcomes .

Potential achievers typically advise their peers facing similar academic challenges to remain persistent and not give up on their aspirations. They emphasize the importance of dedication, resilience, and not allowing negative perceptions or setbacks to hinder one's progress . They also encourage peers to turn hardships into motivators and to use supportive words from others as inspiration rather than discouragement . This advice underscores the significance of maintaining a positive outlook and strong work ethic .
