ACT I: EXPOSITION

Scene 1: Buhay-Alipin ni Ella

(Setting: A well-furnished sala, but Ella’s surroundings feel cold and unwelcoming.
Alexandra sits on the sofa, sipping tea, while Natasha and Trixie lounge lazily. Ella is on
her knees, scrubbing the floor. Her clothes are old and worn out.)

(Ella wipes her forehead, exhausted. Natasha stretches her legs, knocking over a bag
of chips on purpose.)

Natasha: “Oh no! Ella, ano ba ‘yan? Ang kalat! Linisin mo ‘yan dali, kadiri!” (laughs)

(Trixie smirks, tossing a crumpled tissue onto the floor.)

(Ella clenches her jaw, forcing herself to stay quiet as she kneels and picks up the
mess.)

Alexandra: (raising an eyebrow, unimpressed) “Ano ba ‘yan, Ella? Ganyan ka ba talaga

kabagal? Kaya siguro walang may gusto sa’yo.”

(Natasha and Trixie snicker.)

Natasha: “Grabe, Ma. Nasanay kasi ‘yan sa pagiging useless “

Trixie: “Buti nga pinatira mo pa ‘yan dito, Tita Alexandra. Kung ako yan, never akong
magpapatira ng palamunin sa bahay ko!”

(Ella grips the rag tightly. She wants to fight back, pero anong laban niya? She swallows
the lump in her throat and keeps scrubbing.)
(Alexandra sighs dramatically, standing up.)

(Ella nods silently. Alexandra and the others walk away, leaving her alone on the floor,
staring blankly at the dirtied tiles. She blinks back tears.)

Ella: (whispers to herself) “Kailan ba ‘to matatapos…?”

ACT II: RISING ACTION

Scene 1: Eskwela at Pambu-bully

(Setting: School hallway. Ella walks with her head down, clutching her worn-out bag.
Anabelle and Angelina rush toward her, concern on their faces.)

Anabelle: “Ella! Kamusta? Kumain ka na ba?”

Ella: (forcing a small smile) “Okay lang… Hindi pa, pero ayos lang naman.”
Angelina: (frowning) “Okay lang ka diyan! Paulit-ulit ka na lang sa ‘okay lang’ pero
obvious naman na hindi!”

(Ella opens her mouth to respond, pero biglang may humarang sa kanila—Dexter,
William, at Felix.

Wala? Ah,
kasi kahit fairy, walang gustong tumulong sa’yo!”

(Felix bursts into laughter, while William steps forward, eyeing Ella’s bag.)
William: “Ano ‘yan, luma mong bag? Grabe, Ella. Kahit secondhand, di mo kayang
palitan?”
Felix: (pretending to be sympathetic) “Alam mo, Ella, pwede kang sumali sa raffle…

(Ella remains quiet, gripping her bag. Anabelle steps in between them, glaring at the
boys.)

Anabelle: “Back off, Dexter. Wala kaming oras para sa mga gago katulad niyo.”
Felix: (mocking gasp) “Naks! May bodyguards ka pala, Ella? Pero sorry, kahit sampung
Anabelle pa ang kasama mo, kawawa ka pa rin!”

(The school bell rings, cutting the tension. Angelina pulls Ella’s hand.)

Angelina: “Tara na, Ella. Hindi worth it ang mga ‘to.”

(Ella follows them, but as she walks away, she feels the weight of their words crushing
her.)

Scene 2: Tahimik na Pagdurusa

(Setting: Ella’s small, cramped room. It’s barely furnished—just a thin mattress and a
small table. She sits on the edge of her bed, staring at the cracked ceiling.)

(She blinks, and memories flash in her mind—Alexandra calling her useless, Natasha
laughing at her, Dexter and his friends humiliating her in school. Slowly, her breathing
becomes uneven.)

Ella: (whispers, voice shaking) “Hanggang kailan ko ‘to titiisin?”

(She grips her pillow, hugging it tightly. A few tears escape her eyes.)

Ella: “Wala ba talagang magbabago? Wala na bang ibang mundo para sa’kin?”

(She wipes her tears and sits up. Something inside her shifts. A new thought creeps in
—an idea she’s never dared to entertain before.)

Ella: (softly, almost scared to say it aloud) “Paano kung umalis ako?”

(She stares at her reflection in the small mirror across the room. For the first time, she
asks herself: What if I fight for my own life?)

ACT III: CLIMAX

Scene 1: Ang Huling Patak ng Pasensya

(Setting: Dining table. Alexandra and Natasha are seated, while Ella serves breakfast.
Alexandra takes one bite of the scrambled eggs and immediately frowns.)

Alexandra: (disgusted) “Ano ‘to? Sinabi ko bang gusto ko ng scrambled eggs? Ang
tanga mo talaga, Ella!”
Natasha: (laughing) “Mommy, baka wala nang pag-asa ‘yan! Kahit anong gawin niya,
palpak pa rin!”

(Ella stands still. Slowly, she puts down the tray. Silence.)

Ella: (calm, but with hidden strength) “Ayoko na.”

(Alexandra and Natasha freeze.)

Alexandra: (raising an eyebrow) “Ano’ng sinabi mo?”

Ella: (looking up, eyes filled with determination) “Ayoko na. Hindi niyo na ako alipin.
Hindi niyo na ako kaya tapakan.”

(Natasha scoffs, but there’s a flicker of uncertainty in her eyes.)

Natasha: “Aba, kapal ng mukha mo! Saan ka pupunta, ha?”

Alexandra: (laughing coldly) “Wala kang pupuntahan, Ella. Ikaw? Wala kang
patutunguhan!”
Ella: (smiling through tears, voice steady) “Mas pipiliin ko pang wala akong mapuntahan
kesa manatili dito na parang wala akong halaga.”

(She steps back, takes one last look at them, then walks away—out the door, out of
their lives, and into the unknown.)
-
(Ella has left home. She now faces the real world—struggles, uncertainties, but also
new opportunities.)

Scene 2: Bagong Simula, Bagong Hamon

(Setting: A dark street. Ella walks alone, carrying only a small bag.
She stops by a waiting
shed and sits, hugging herself.)

Ella: (whispering to herself) “Kaya ko ‘to… Hindi na ako babalik doon. Kahit anong
mangyari, hindi na ako babalik.”
(Her stomach growls. She looks around, realizing she has no money, no food, and no
place to stay.)

Ella: (forcing a smile) “New life, new problems. Kaya mo ‘to, Ella.”

(She takes a deep breath at tinitingnan ang paligid, hoping for a solution.)

Scene 3: Ang Unang Trabaho

(Setting: A small café. Ella stands outside, staring at the “HIRING” sign. Pinunasan niya
ang mukha, inayos ang sarili, then takes a deep breath before entering.)

(Inside, a manager named Ms. Dela Cruz is checking some documents. She looks up
when she sees Ella.)

Ms. Dela Cruz: (neutral tone) “Yes? Can I help you?”

Ella: (nervous but determined) “Ma’am, I saw the sign outside. Hiring pa po ba kayo?”
Ms. Dela Cruz: (eyeing her carefully) “Do you have experience?”
Ella: (shaking her head, nervous smile) “Wala po… pero mabilis akong matuto!
Marunong po akong magluto, maglinis, at—”
Ms. Dela Cruz: (raising a hand to stop her) “Hmm. Sige. You start tomorrow. But if you
mess up, I won’t hesitate to fire you.”
Ella: (eyes widening in shock and relief) “T-talaga po? Thank you, Ma’am! Hindi ko po
kayo bibiguin!”

(Ms. Dela Cruz just nods and hands her an apron.)

Ms. Dela Cruz: “Wear this. See you at 6 AM sharp.”

(Ella holds the apron tightly, fighting back tears. Sa unang pagkakataon, may nagbigay
ng chance sa kanya.)

ACT VI: FALLING ACTION

Scene 1: Anabelle at Angelina’s Support

(Setting: A fast-food place. Anabelle and Angelina sit at a table, shocked after hearing
Ella’s story.)

Angelina: (slamming the table) “You left?! On your own?! Ella, paano ka—anong plano
mo?”
Ella: (smiling faintly) “I got a job. Café staff.”
Anabelle: (worried but proud) “Girl, grabe ka! Buti kinaya mo. You didn’t even tell us—
akala namin nasa bahay ka pa!”
Ella: (shrugging, softer voice) “Ayokong maging pabigat sa inyo. Besides… I needed to
do this.”
Angelina: (smiling, squeezing Ella’s hand) “We’re proud of you. And if you need
anything—kahit ano—sabihin mo, ha?”
(Ella nods, her heart feeling lighter. She’s not alone after all.)

Scene 2: Pagharap sa Hirap ng Trabaho

(Setting: The café kitchen. Ella is washing dishes habang tumatanggap ng sunod-sunod
na orders.)

Ms. Dela Cruz: (calling out from the kitchen) “Ella, where’s the clean plates?! Bilis!”
Ella: (panicking, rushing to dry the plates) “Opo! Coming!”

(She trips slightly, almost dropping the plates. Everyone laughs, but she forces herself
to focus. Sweat drips from her forehead, but she keeps pushing.)

(Later that night, habang nagpapahinga, napangiti siya kahit pagod na pagod.)

Ella: (whispering to herself) “Mahirap… pero at least this time, I’m working for my own
future.”

(She looks out the window, feeling something new—hope.)

(Ella has worked hard and built a new life. Now, she faces the biggest test—confronting
her past and choosing between anger or forgiveness.)

Scene 3: The achievement of Ella

AFTER 2 YEARS
(Setting: A modern office. Ella, now dressed professionally, stands in front of her desk.
She is now a manager in a company. Her confidence radiates as she gives instructions
to her team.)

Ella: (smiling, with authority) “Guys, let’s finalize the reports before lunch. I need them
on my desk by 2 PM.”

(Her employees nod, impressed by her leadership. As she sits down, she receives a call
from Angelina.)

Angelina: (excited voice) “Ella! Uy, ang yaman mo na! Dapat nililibre mo na kami ni
Anabelle!”
Ella: (laughing) “Gaga! Hindi naman. Pero sige, gala tayo this weekend. Kamusta
kayo?”
Anabelle: (grabbing the phone, teasing tone) “Mas okay kami, lalo na knowing na ikaw,
super successful na!”
Ella: (smiling, feeling truly happy) “Salamat, girls. Kung wala kayo, baka hindi ko
kinaya.”

(Despite her success, a small part of her still wonders about her past. Then, her
secretary calls her.)

“on call”
(Ella freezes. For the first time in years, her stepsister has come to see her.)
Ella: “okay”

ACT V: RESOLUTION

Scene 1: Muling Pagkikita

(Setting: A fancy café. Ella arrives, seeing Natasha already there, looking nervous. The
once arrogant girl now seems… lost.)

Natasha: (looking up, hesitant smile) “Hi, Ella.”

Ella: (calm, professional tone) “Natasha. What do you need?”
Natasha: (playing with her coffee cup, avoiding eye contact) “I just… I just wanted to
see you. You’ve changed a lot.”
Ella: (leaning back, observing her stepsister) “Unlike you, I had to. Life forced me to
grow up.”
Natasha: (sighing, finally looking at Ella) “I know. And… I wanted to say sorry.”
(Ella stiffens. She wasn’t expecting this.)

Ella: (carefully) “Bakit?”

Natasha: (softly) “Kasi… wala na si Mama. Naaksidente siya last year. And noong wala

(Ella processes this. There’s a heavy silence between them.)

Natasha: (eyes glassy, voice breaking) “I was jealous, Ella. Kasi kahit kailan, hindi ka
sumuko. Kahit minamaltrato ka namin, hindi ka nagbago. Pero ako? Sinunod ko lahat
ng gusto ni Mama, thinking it would make me strong, pero ngayon… ako yung talo.”

(Ella looks at her stepsister, seeing the sincerity in her eyes. Years ago, she dreamed of
this moment—seeing Natasha regret everything. But now that it’s here… it doesn’t feel
as satisfying as she imagined.)

Ella: (softly) “Tama ka. Hindi ako sumuko. Kasi natuto akong lumaban.”

(A long pause. Natasha wipes her tears, looking away.)

Natasha: (whispering) “Kaya mo ba akong patawarin?”

Ella: Hin-hindi ko alam.

Scene 2: Ang Desisyon

(Setting: Outside the café. Ella stands alone, staring up at the sky. She thinks about
everything—her past, her struggles, her success. Finally, she exhales, as if releasing all
the weight from her heart.)

(She pulls out her phone and calls Anabelle and Angelina.)

Ella: (smiling) “Girls, libre ko kayo this weekend. Tara, gala tayo.”
Angelina: (laughing) “Wow, big boss move! May extra budget si Ella!”
Anabelle: (teasing) “Pero seryoso, okay ka lang?”
Ella: (soft but firm voice) “Yeah. I’m okay. Finally… I’m free.”

(As she walks away, the weight of the past no longer holds her back. She doesn’t need
revenge. She doesn’t need validation. She has something even greater—freedom and
peace.)
