Magazine Production Process

Pre Production - Content

In the Pre-Production stage the editorial teams will be sharing their ideas and
then they will then be looking through the content by planning it. That will then
lead to them making decisions on which writer will be assigned to which certain
[Link] then doing the necessary research into the certain assignment that
they are doing This stage is essential because this is where the decisions are
made and roles are allocated and established.

Pre Production - Flat Planning
In the Flat Planning Pre - Production stage the editorial team create a flat plan
which is a page by page issue of the magazine to help to construct the order of
the articles and the adverts and the way that they are laid out. A good thing with
this is that you are easily able to adjust the order that the magazine is applied to
the content, and plan out the length of each article. Identify the needed images.
The next stage is really important and that is because then everyone has got an
understanding of what to expect and the uniqueness of the magazine and
articles pages.

Production
In the Production stage the writer and the team will be looking over to plan the
articles and then can conduct the research. Then the Photoshoots will be
arranged and that will then mean that they will look to see if there are many
images that have been archived and identified and arranged.

Production - Writing and Sub Editing
In the Production and then Writing and Sub -Editing the sub-editor will check
through the article to see if there are any grammar problems and then as well
the length of the articles. Following after that the Sub-Editor will then check to
see if it is too long and or too short and will then ask the writer to shorten it or
write more about the article. The Desktop Publishing Software is used to layout
the articles and all of the content including the images and that they may use.
The Pre made templates that are as well inline with the house style and the
essential because this is when the magazine pages are made

Post Production - Checking Printers Proof

the publishers and then will create a mock up. To then give to the editors for
them to give their final overall approval.
