Employee Evaluation: How, and based on what factors does Sapphire evaluate and
value their employees?
Sapphire has a proper matrix that is being followed step by step in the evaluation process.
The evaluation process is continued all around the year to not only observe the performance
of the employees but also their behavior and attitude within the boundaries of the
organization. The whole process starts when the objectives are set.
1. Objective setting:
At the start of the year, some objectives are set according to the routine and job
requirements in Sapphire. Setting objectives in a business is a crucial step toward
achieving success and maintaining long-term growth. Objectives provide a clear
direction and serve as a roadmap to guide a business's activities and decisions. These
objectives help in evaluating the overall performance of the employee and to what
extent they completed and accomplished their goals. In the process of objective
setting, another very important aspect of it is that smart objectives must be introduced.
Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Relevant
Timebound
2. Smart Objectives:
When setting objectives, it is important to ensure they are SMART: specific,
measurable, achievable, relevant, and time bound. Specific objectives outline exactly
what needs to be accomplished and leave no room for ambiguity. Measurable
objectives allow progress to be tracked and evaluated, ensuring that the desired
outcomes are being achieved. Achievable objectives strike a balance between being
challenging yet attainable and motivating individuals and teams to strive for
excellence. Relevant objectives align with the overall mission and vision of the
10
business, contributing to its long-term goals and success. Time-bound objectives
establish deadlines, providing a sense of urgency and accountability.
3. Alignment of objectives with core values:
A company like Sapphire does not compromise on the core values of the company.
These core values include innovation, integrity, and achieving excellence. Moreover,
objectives should be aligned with the business's core values and strategies, reflecting
its unique identity and competitive advantages. Regularly review and update
objectives to adapt to changing market conditions and internal dynamics. Effective
communication and stakeholder engagement are key to ensuring that objectives are
well understood, embraced, and supported by employees at all levels of the
organization.
4. Employee value system:
The attitude and behavior of employees in Sapphire matter greatly when it comes to
the overall success and progress of the organization. The dedication of employees to
their work and the organization is the primary factor influencing their attitude.
Workers who are committed, dependable, and have a great work ethic not only
motivate their peers but also help the company reach its objectives. They assume
accountability for their work, show ownership over it, and aim for perfection.
Additionally, the way that workers behave greatly influences the culture of the
organization. A positive and cooperative environment is fostered by treating
coworkers, bosses, and clients with respect and courtesy. Good verbal and nonverbal
communication skills are essential for facilitating productive teamwork and avoiding
misunderstandings.
5. Final evaluation of Employees:
One of the most important processes in Sapphire that establishes an employee's
effectiveness and contributions for the entire year is their final review. This review
provides a chance to pinpoint areas in need of improvement while also honoring the
11
employees' efforts and accomplishments. A few examples of the evaluation criteria
could be things like output, cooperation, communication abilities, flexibility, and
adherence to corporate guidelines. Following the evaluation, supervisors give their
staff members thorough feedback and hold discussions about areas that still need
work. The ultimate assessment functions as a standard for talks about appraisals,
promotions, and pay modifications, providing employees with an opportunity to
advance and thrive in the organization. All things considered, Sapphire's final
employee evaluation guarantees openness, responsibility, and ongoing development
within the company.
