"Good morning, candidates. Welcome to LIU DELA CRUZ Inc, your accredited assessment
center for Miter Joint Making. I am Clarence Dela Cruz, and alongside me is my co-assessor,
Jossa Mae Liu. We are both accredited competency assessors for Miter Joint Making NC II.
Here are our identification cards and accreditation numbers, along with our official appointment
letter from the AC Manager of this institution. Rest assured, this assessment is conducted under
TESDA’s accreditation and standards.
ACKNOWLEDGE
DELA CRUZ:
"Before we begin, I would like to acknowledge the presence of Ms. Alice Guo, our AC Manager,
and Mr. Rushdee Cubian, our TESDA Representative from the TESDA Provincial Office. Their
role here is to observe and ensure that our assessment follows the prescribed competency
assessment methodologies and procedures. Please feel at ease, as they are not here to
influence the outcome but to validate the fairness and integrity of the process."
CHECKING ATTENDANCE
LIU: "We will now proceed with the attendance check. As I call your name, please step forward,
present your admission slip, and sign the attendance sheet."
ORIENTATION & ASSESSMENT OVERVIEW
DELA CRUZ:
"Now, let’s go over the assessment process. Today, we will be conducting a competency-based
assessment for Miter Joint Making ,meaning we will evaluate your skills, knowledge, and ability
to perform Miter Joint Making according to industry standards. We will collect evidence using
three assessment methods: a written test, a practical demonstration, and an interview."
"The purpose of this assessment is to determine if you meet the competency standards set by
TESDA. To achieve this, we will be collecting evidence through three assessment components:"
“The written test will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQ), the practical demonstration will
involve a hands-on Miter Joint Making task, and the interview will be a one-on-one
question-and-answer session.
ALLOWABLE OR REASONABLE ADJUSTMENTS
DELA CRUZ:
"The comfort room is located beside the lobby for your personal needs. If anyone has any
health issues, physical limitations, or concerns regarding the assessment, please let us know so
we can provide necessary assistance." If needed, we can also translate written and verbal
instructions into the local dialect for better understanding."
DO’S AND DON’TS DURING ASSESSMENT
DELA CRUZ:
"To maintain order and fairness, please take note of the following guidelines:"
● If you have any questions, raise your right hand before the assessment begins. Once the
test starts, questions will no longer be entertained.
● Mobile phones are not allowed in the assessment area. Please turn them off and keep
them inside your bag.
● Remain in the designated assessment area for the entire duration of the assessment
unless instructed otherwise.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY (OHS)
LIU: "Safety is a top priority during this assessment. Please observe proper safety practices at
all times. In case of an accident, immediately call me or my co-assessor's attention so that we
can administer first aid. Our first aid kit is located on the right side of the assessment area."
ROLE OF THE ASSESSOR
LIU: "As assessors, our role is to observe and document your performance during the
assessment. However, we have the right to stop the assessment if we observe any unsafe or
improper behavior that could endanger yourself, others, or property."
WRITTEN EXAM
LIU: "Since all the candidates have already completed and passed the Self-Assessment Test,
meaning you have self-evaluated your competencies before coming here. We will now proceed
with the multiple-choice written exam to further assess your theoretical knowledge of Miter Joint
Making NC II."
"Before we begin, please listen carefully to the following instructions:"
Instructions:
● You will have 2 minutes to complete the 10 items mcq test.
● Read each question carefully before selecting your answer.
● If you have any clarifications, raise your right hand before we start.
● Once the exam begins, no further questions will be entertained.
"Please make sure to answer honestly and to the best of your ability. Once everyone is finished,
we will proceed to the next phase of the assessment."
PRACTICAL DEMONSTRATION
DELA CRUZ:
"Now that the written exam is complete, we will proceed to the practical demonstration phase.
This is where you will apply your skills in Miter Joint Making using the tools, equipment, and
materials provided."
"Please pay close attention to the following instructions before we begin:"
Instructions:
● Follow the competency-based guidelines provided to you
● You will have 15 minutes to complete the practical demonstration in Miter Joint Making.
● Be mindful of the specified time limits set in the assessment package to complete the
task efficiently.
● If you have any concerns or difficulties, raise your hand, and we will address them
accordingly.
"Safety is our priority. Ensure that you handle the tools correctly and observe the proper
procedures at all times. You may now proceed with your task."
INTERVIEW
LIU: Now that you have completed the practical demonstration, we will move on to the final
phase of the assessment and the interview. This will be conducted one-on-one to verify your
understanding of the task you just performed."
Instructions:
● Each of you will be called individually for the interview.
● You will be asked competency-related questions about your demonstration and general
knowledge of Miter Joint Making.
● Please answer clearly and concisely based on your skills, experience, and knowledge.
● This interview will help us confirm your understanding of the competencies required for
this qualification.
"Once you have completed the interview, please remain seated and wait for further instructions.
We appreciate your cooperation throughout the assessment process."
FEEDBACKING
DELA CRUZ:
"Candidates, we have now reached the feedbacking stage. This is where we will discuss your
performance based on the assessment criteria. Our goal is to provide you with constructive
feedback regarding your strengths and areas for improvement."
● We have carefully evaluated your performance in the written exam, practical
demonstration, and interview.
● Each of you will receive individual feedback on how well you met the competency
standards.
● If you have any clarifications or concerns, feel free to ask during this session.
LIU: "We would like to remind you that competency-based assessment is not about passing or
failing it is about demonstrating the required competencies. If a candidate is found 'Competent,'
it means they have successfully met the standards. If a candidate is found 'Not Yet Competent,'
it means further practice and improvement are needed before re-assessment."
ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS & CERTIFICATION
DELA CRUZ:
"Now, we will announce the assessment results. Please listen carefully as we call your names
and inform you of your competency status."
Certification Process:
● Candidates who have been found 'Competent' will receive a Competency Assessment
Result Summary (CARS) and will be recommended for issuance of a National Certificate
(NC II) from TESDA.
● You may claim your NC II at the TESDA Provincial Office in three (3) working days.
Please bring ₱50 and a passport-size picture. Before proceeding, kindly sign the CARS
document, which will also be signed by the assessor.
LIU: "For candidates who have been marked as 'Not Yet Competent,' you will still receive a
Certificate of Competency (COC) and may reassess at any accredited assessment center of
your choice. If you wish to appeal the result, you may submit a letter to the TESDA Director
within 24 hours."
DELA CRUZ:
"If you have no further concerns and agree with the assessment results, please affix your
signature. Congratulations to all, and we appreciate your effort and participation! Regardless of
the result, we encourage you to continue enhancing your skills and striving for excellence."
