Poultry Farm Management Dataset

Poultry information such as number of male and female, rate of chick mortality in each week,
amount of feed and medicine given to each chick and cull’s rate of week 1 to week 69 is
obtained from Sabarhi Hatcheries in Palladam, Tamil Nadu, India. Sabarhi Hatcheries is
recognised by Central Poultry Development Organization of India. The hatchery area is
divided into five sections like work space, egg storage and processing, incubation, hatching,
cleaning, and clean-up. The dataset makes it easier for farmers to manage all tasks involved
in running a poultry farm, such as chicken sales, trucking, and monitoring the farms'
operations without physically visiting them. Managers and owners of poultry farms can
access information about their operations, including sales statistics, invoices, and more,
through the record. This enables them to make more informed decisions about farm
management and to improve their farms. This dataset contains comprehensive information on
hatcheries, feed storage and common poultry diseases and their prevention.

DATASET DESCRIPTIONS:

Organizing the hatchery into five sections—work space, egg storage and processing, incubation, hatching, cleaning, and clean-up—allows for streamlined operations, enhanced hygiene, and efficient workflow. Each section can focus on specific tasks, reducing cross-contamination and operational inefficiencies. This organization supports better disease prevention and optimizes the hatchery’s output .

A comprehensive poultry dataset supports farm scalability by enabling precise tracking and analysis of critical farm metrics such as feed consumption, mortality rates, and egg production. With this data, managers can optimize resource allocation, forecast future needs, and implement strategies that support expansion. It allows farms to scale operations efficiently while maintaining high standards of productivity and profitability .

Integrating the Poultry Trading Management System allows for streamlined processes in the sale and distribution of poultry products, such as eggs, feed, and chicks. It facilitates better inventory management, price setting, and order processing while supporting unlimited farms, flocks, and points of sale. Enhanced trading capabilities can lead to increased market reach, improved revenue streams, and better adaptability to market demands .

The dataset's inclusion of information on common poultry diseases and their prevention helps managers predict and mitigate potential health crises. By integrating this data into farm management practices, managers can implement proactive health strategies, reduce mortality rates, and maintain a healthier flock, ultimately boosting productivity and reducing operational costs .

Medication and vaccine records provide critical data for maintaining flock health, helping to prevent common poultry diseases and decrease mortality rates. By analyzing these records, farm managers can assess the effectiveness of health interventions, adjust treatment plans based on data trends, and ensure compliance with health standards, thereby enhancing overall farm efficacy .

The dataset enables remote monitoring by providing detailed records on various farm operations such as sales statistics and operational data. Farm managers can access real-time information without needing to be physically present, which facilitates timely decision-making and efficient management of resources, helping overcome the challenges of geographic and logistical constraints .

Detailed egg information is crucial for optimizing production strategies. Insights into total egg output, hatching rates, and defects like double yolks or cracked eggs help in refining breeding programs and enhance production efficiency. By understanding these metrics, farms can implement corrective measures to reduce waste and improve the quality and quantity of eggs produced, resulting in better economic outcomes .

The Sabarhi Hatcheries dataset provides comprehensive data on poultry management, which allows farm managers to access information like sales statistics, invoices, and operational details without physical presence. This enables managers to analyze trends in chick mortality rates, feed usage, and medicine administration, thus making data-driven decisions to optimize farm management and improve productivity .

Understanding the cull's rate provides insights into the health and viability of the flock during the early stages of growth. High cull rates might indicate underlying health issues, poor living conditions, or inadequate feed quality. By analyzing this data, managers can implement corrective measures to reduce losses, ensure a healthier flock, and potentially improve overall farm productivity .

In the first 20 weeks, the focus is on chick demographics, mortality rates, feeding, and medical care, enabling managers to optimize chick health and growth. The remaining 49 weeks provide detailed egg-related information, such as egg production quality and quantity, guiding management to improve egg output and quality. This segmentation helps managers apply targeted strategies at different stages of poultry development to maximize overall productivity .
