PP Static Rounding Profile

While managing customer orders in the system, in some process-based


scenarios, it may be necessary to round the order quantity received from the
customer due to requirements such as ensuring compatibility with package
quantity arrangements. By assigning a specific coefficient, the entered order
quantity can be rounded according to the relevant coefficient ratio. This
rounding process can be carried out within the standard SAP structure by
following the steps below.

Definition of Rounding Profile

Units of Measure -> Maintenance of Rounding Profile
In the system, two different rounding profile types can be defined as shown
in the image.

Static Rounding Profile

In Static Rounding Profile definition, a threshold value is set to perform basic


rounding. The threshold value is defined at the plant level. No specific unit of
measure is considered while defining the threshold value. When the entered
order quantity exceeds the specified threshold, the system rounds it up to
the next value. Once a rounding profile is defined for a plant, it can be used
for different plants as well.

Dynamic Rounding Profile

In defining a dynamic rounding profile, besides considering the unit of


measurement, it also offers different features. In defining dynamic profile,
rounding method is selected and rounding rule is defined. In the rounding
rule, percentage calculation is made on the basis of unit of measure.
Similarly, the dynamic rounding profile is defined at the production site level
and can be used at more than one production site.

"Static rounding profile" definition steps below:

"Threshold value" and "Rounding value" is selected.


Threshold value -> Order quantity that can be entered without rounding

Rounding value -> It is the value that should be rounded after the
threshold value is passed. If the amount is entered over the rounding value,
the system will perform the update process as multiples of the rounding
value.

In the related example above, all orders entered over 1 quantity are rounded
to 100.

Note: As mentioned above, the system does not take into account any unit of
measure in the static rounding profile.

Item type rounding value configuration

Transaction code: VOV7

1) In order for rounding to be active on item type basis, the following item
type maintenance is performed.

2) The rounding profile created in the system must be assigned in the


material master.
In the above process, the rounding profile defined for the material.

3) As soon as the sales order is entered, the system revises the quantity by
considering the rounding profile.
Simulation Process
There is also a "Simulation" button on the profile definition screen. The
system simulates the quantity based on the rounding profile maintenance
determined without even opening an order.

The system simulates that the value to be rounded for the entered amount is
100.

When the test is performed with a value above 100, the result is as follows;
The system simulates that the value to be rounded for the entered amount is
200.
