Answer these problems using ratios.
1 A bathroom tile pattern has blue, red and white tiles in the ratio 3 : 4 : 8. There are 300 tiles.
How many tiles are there of each colour?
2 The angles of a triangle are in the ratio 1 : 4 : 5.
Work out the size of each angle and state the type of triangle it is.
3 Brown ink is made by mixing red, blue and green ink in the ratio 14 : 7 : 2.
A batch of brown ink uses 50 mL of green ink. How much red and blue ink is used?
4 A necklace has green, red, blue and pink beads in the ratio 2 : 4 : 3 : 1. There are 12 blue beads.
How many beads are on the necklace in total?
5 An aviary contains green, blue and yellow birds in the ratio 7 : 2 : 5.
There are 12 more yellow birds than blue birds.
How many birds are there of each colour?
