Introduction
Our trip to the Science Centrum, the Oriental Mindoro Heritage Museum, and the Silonay Mangrove
Conservation Eco Park was an unforgettable adventure. Each stop brought something new—whether it was the
thrill of hands-on science experiments, the deep dive into local history and culture, or the peaceful connection
with nature. These places helped us see the world in different ways, and we walked away feeling inspired,
enlightened, and grateful for the chance to experience them.

At the Science Centrum, we had an amazing time playing with all the interactive exhibits. One of the highlights
was the Plasma Sphere, where we could control colorful electric currents with our hands—almost like we were
holding lightning! The Gravity Well was another favorite, as we watched marbles spiral down like miniature
planets. The Zoetrope brought still images to life, and we were mesmerized by the optical illusions. Each
activity was not only fun but also a great way to learn about science without even realizing it. Even though we
didn't get to explore all 24 exhibits, the ones we experienced left a strong impression on us and sparked our
curiosity about the world of science.
The Oriental Mindoro Heritage Museum was a whole different kind of experience. Walking through the
museum, we felt like we were stepping back in time, discovering the rich traditions of the Mangyan people.
Seeing the tools, textiles, and photographs of the past made us appreciate the resourcefulness and resilience of
the people who lived here long ago. The traditional clothing and modern art pieces really brought the region’s
culture to life, showing how the past and present are intertwined. One of the most moving parts was seeing the
portraits of local people, which reminded us that behind every artifact and display, there are real lives and
stories shaping the culture. It was a powerful reminder of how important it is to honor and preserve our heritage.
Lastly, the Silonay Mangrove Conservation Eco Park gave us a chance to reconnect with nature in a profound
way. The park is a hidden gem, filled with wildlife and peaceful surroundings. We were lucky enough to see the
beautiful Olive Backed Sunbird and the striking Philippine Duck, along with other fascinating creatures like the
Painted Bronzeback snake. The success of the local conservation efforts was clear, as the park thrived with life.
It was heartwarming to see how the mangroves have been restored, helping protect the coastline and providing a
safe haven for countless species. Walking through the park, we realized just how important it is to take care of
our environment, and we left feeling inspired to do our part in protecting nature.
