Phase 1
Syllabus topics: Law and Criminality, Social identity and inclusion, Poverty and inequality
Issue: Domestic Violence in Pakistan
The local issue we chose is rich in perspectives so we divided them into 3 lenses: the victims, such as
women, children, and disabled individuals; the professionals, such as psychologists and NGO
representatives; and the witnesses, such as family members of the victims. We fragmented these lenses
among ourselves, and so, each member focused on 2 lenses, allowing for in-depth research while
incorporating collaborative support. The professionals’ lens was handled by Umaima, Aaizah, and
Meenal. The victims’ lens was assigned to Umaima, Aaizah, and Antania. Lastly, the witnesses’ lens was
given to Meenal and Antania.
Phase 2
The possible courses of action are firstly, to establish safe houses by collaborating with NGOs and our
local organizations for the victims. Funds will be raised by us for the shelters and also for the resources
for the victims like wheelchairs for the disabled, educational materials for children etc. Secondly, to
ensure the security of each individual, we will design a helpline service in which the victims could seek
help and safety. Thirdly, we will collaborate with our school's An-Nahl Society and arrange workshops
for self-defense. Fourthly, we will carry out awareness campaigns by conducting assemblies as well as
online video conferencing for a broader outreach. We will pin up posters and flyers all over our school
and outside. Furthermore, our social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, etc will be active
throughout the years with constant updates about this issue. Lastly, our website will be an open platform
for the people to anonymously share their stories and experiences.
We took the lead for different roles according to our versatility. Our team leader is Umaima, our
videographers are Aaizah and Umaima; our graphic designers are (posters, flyers, social media posts)
Meenal, Antania, and Aaizah; our technical specialists are (video editing, website designing, social-media
handling) Umaima and Aaizah; and lastly, our interviewers and assembly speakers includes all four of us.
To measure the success, every month, we will circulate a survey, in our school and online, to know about
how much awareness people have on this issue. After every month, we would analyze them and record
any positive impact made on the minds of the people. While running the campaign we would also record
audience engagement which would reflect the interest of the public and their awareness about this issue.
We will also notice the reach on our social media pages through which we can reflect if we are creating a
positive impact in our community.
