Topic 1: CREATION

Self awareness

Genesis 1:26

God created me and my body parts in His image and likeness.

God created me in His own [Link] should therefore do only things that make God happy

God gave human beings authority to name all the animals on earth.

He gave me authority to take care of His creation. We should therefore take care of other animals and
everything created by God.

Parts of the body

God has given me eyes to see,ears for hearing, nose to smell. He has also given me legs for walking,
hands for eating and writing. God gave me mouth for talking and eating .

God has given me many things

We should therefore appreciate and use our body parts well.

Controlling thoughts and feelings.

Good thoughts and feelings

 In school,we are taught to have good thoughts and feelings towards our classmates, teachers
and everyone around us.
 It is important to show good thoughts to others
 We always help our parents with household work.

Bad thoughts and feelings

 Bad thoughts make us to do bad things like taking other people’s items without their
permission.
 We also fight others because of bad feelings and thoughts.
 God does not want us to have bad feelings and thoughts
 Psalms 139:13

Good and Bad choices

When you have good thoughts you make good choices.

 Good choices make our teachers to like us

 Good choices make us to relate well with our parents
 When we make bad choices,we make our teachers, parents sad
 Bad choices also make us sin to God
My family

The head of the family

The father is the head of the family

The mother is the head of the family if the father is not there.

We need to thank God for giving us our parents.

My extended family

Extended family is bigger than nuclear family.

Extended family is made up of grandparents, parents, uncle’s, aunt’s , cousins and all our relatives .

My family tree

A family tree shows the members of a family

It arranges them from the eldest to the youngest

It shows how people in a family are related.

Adam and eve

Our first parents

God created the first man from the soil.

He was called Adam

God took a rib from Adam and made the first woman.

She was called Eve

Adam and Eve were our first parents

They were created by God

Adam and Eve disobey God

The snake made Adam and Eve to disobey God.

It told Eve to eat the fruit that God had told them not to eat.

It lied to Eve that if she ate the fruit she would be like God

Eve ate some of the fruit and gave some to Adam.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating the fruit

Adam and Eve are punished

 God punished Adam and Eve for disobeying Him

  God sent them out of the garden of Eden
 He also made them to start growing their own crops.

Obeying my parents and teachers

 Obeying our parents means showing them respect.

 When we obey our parents they give us food to eat.
 They also pay our school fees
 Our parents buy us new clothes when we obey
 Our parents teach us to obey God
 The Bible teaches us to obey our parents
 Ephesians 6:2
 Our teachers teach us good morals
 The teachers give us knowledge.

Topic 2: THE HOLY BIBLE

The Bible is the word of God

The difference between the Bible and other books

 There are many books at home and in school

 There are textbooks and storybooks
 The Bible is a special book for Christians
 It is the word of God
 The Bible tells Christians what God wants them to do.

The people who wrote the Bible

 The Bible was written by many people

 God helped the people to write the Bible
 The Bible is a Holy Book

Books of the New Testament

 The Bible is divided into two parts; the old Testament and the New Testament.
 The New Testament has 27 books.
 The first four books of the New Testament are called Gospel books.
 They are Mathew, Mark, Luke and John.
 Gospel books tells us about the life of Jesus.

Importance of reading the Bible

 Reading the Bible helps us to know God

 Reading the Bible helps us to respect God
 It also teaches us to live well with others
 It helps us to correct ourselves when we do wrong
 Reading the Bible makes us to know how to pray.
 The Bible guides us in everything we do
Moses and the Burning bush

The story of Moses and the Burning bush

 Moses was taking care of sheep near mount Sinai

 He saw flames of fire on a bush,but the bush was not burning.
 Moses started walking towards the bush
 God told him not to come closer
 He told Moses to remove his sandals because he was standing on the holy ground
 Moses obeyed God. He stopped and removed his sandals

Moses obeyed God

Moses obeyed God at mount Sinai. He did what God told him to do;

 He stopped when God told him not to come closer to the burning bush
 Moses removed his shoes when God told him he was standing in a holy place.
 We should also obey God ,our parents and teachers

The big fish swallow Jonah

The story of Jonah and the big fish

 God sent Jonah to tell the people of Nineveh to stop sinning

 Jonah disobeyed God. He got into a ship that was going away from [Link] send a storm
and the ship started sinking
 The sailors threw Jonah into the sea to stop the ship from sinking.
 Jonah was swallowed by a big fish. He stayed inside the fish for three days
 Jonah prayed and asked God to forgive him.
 God made the fish to spit Jonah out.

Jonah is punished by God

 Jonah disobeyed God

 Jonah was swallowed by a big fish because of disobeying God
 He stayed inside the fish for three days
 God punished Jonah for disobeying Him
 God wants me to always obey Him

Naaman is healed

 Naaman was the leader of an army. He had a bad skin disease

 He went to Elisha to be healed
 Elisha told him to wash himself in River Jordan seven times
 Naaman did what Elisha asked him to do. Naaman was healed.
 God healed Naaman. God heals us when we are sick.

God heals me

 When I am sick,I go to hospital.

 The doctor tells me what to do so that I can be cured
  Doctors treat me. God uses doctors to heal me just as he used Elisha to heal Naaman.
 God heals diseases.

Three Hebrew men are rescued from a fire

 The king wanted all the people to bow to a statue

 The three Hebrew men refused to bow to the statue
 The king told them he would throw them into the fire
 They did not fear. They trusted God. They had faith in God
 When they were thrown into the fire,God saved them
 God send an angel to protect the men. They did not get burned

Trusting God

 The three Hebrew men knew it was wrong to bow down to the statue. They refusedto bow to it
 The king threatened them but they still refused
 They were thrown into the fire but God saved them
 The king promoted the three men to higher positions.
 When I know something is wrong I should not do it just like the three men
 Even if I am threatened,I should refuse.
 When I have challenges,I should pray.

The story of Elisha and the boys.

 Elisha was an old man who worked for God.

 One day ,a group of boys made fun of his bald head
 Elisha was not happy,so he cursed them.
 Two she- bears appeared and killed 42 of the boys.
 God wants me to respect and help old people

Respecting the elderly

 I should respect old people and be there friends.

 Old people can teach me a lot of things
 They can tell me stories that teach me how to live with other people
 God wants me to respect old people.

Topic 3: THE EARLY LIFE OF JESUS CHRIST.

The wise men are guided by a star

 The wise men Studied the stars

 One night they saw a bright star
 They immediately knew a king has been born.
 The star guided them to baby Jesus.
 God made the bright star that guided the wise men.
 Just like the star the word of God is light.
 It is like a lamp that guides me in the dark
 The word of God guides me to God and Jesus.
The home town of Jesus Christ

 After Joseph and Mary presented baby Jesus to God,they went back to their home town in
Nazareth.
 They went with baby Jesus
 Jesus grew up in Nazareth
 He became strong, full of wisdom and God’s blessing

The Good Samaritan

 A man was attacked by thieves.A priest and levite did not help him.
 The Good Samaritan cleaned the man’s wounds
 The Good Samaritan then took the man to an inn
 The Good Samaritan asked the inn-keeper to take care of the man
 The Good Samaritan was kind and caring to the injured man
 The Good Samaritan was a good neighbor to the injured man.

Helping people in need

We can be good neighbor by helping other people just like the good Samaritan

We should help people who are in need.

The little boy with five loaves of bread and two fish.

 A large group of people followed Jesus. There were about 5000 men
 Jesus wanted to give food to all the people.
 There was a boy who had five loaves of bread and two fish
 The boy shared his food
 Jesus took the bread and fish and gave thanks to God
 The disciples shared the food among all the people
 Jesus and the little boy were kind and caring.

Keeping the environment clean

 A lot of food remained after people have eaten.

 Jesus told the disciples not to waste any food.
 The disciples collected 12 baskets of leftovers
 The disciples kept the environment clean

Jesus Christ walks on water

 The disciples of Jesus were traveling in a boat at night.

 Jesus came to the disciples while walking on water
 The disciples were afraid. They thought it was a ghost.
 Jesus told them not to be afraid
 Peter wanted to walk on water.
 He asked Jesus to call him.
 Jesus called him. Peter started to walk on the water
 Peter become after afraid. He started sinking. He asked Jesus to help him
  Jesus saved him
 Jesus told peter to have more faith

The raising of Jairus’ daughter

 Jairus was told that his daughter had died.

 Jesus told him not to be afraid but to have faith.
 Jesus, Jairus’,peter, James and John went to the house of Jairus.
 Jesus raised the girl back to life.
 Jesus is the son of God
 He has power over death

Easter

 Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after he was buried.
 This shows that Jesus is the son of God.
 The resurrection of Jesus gives us hope for a new life with God
 That is what we celebrate during Easter.

Celebrating Easter
 During Easter we go to church and pray
 We also have parties at home
 We eat drink and exchange gifts
 We should share with others what we have when celebrating Easter

Topic 4: CHRISTIAN VALUES

Honesty

The story of Ananias and sapphira

 Ananias and sapphira sold their property

 They were to give all the money to Peter the apostle
 They only gave peter part of the money and lied that was all of it
 Ananias and sapphira lied to God. They were not honest.
 Both of them died.

Giving offering in church

 Ananias and sapphira did not give the full offering.

 They kept part of the offering for themselves
 Ananias and sapphira cheated God
 They both died because of cheating God.
 In church,we should give the whole offering
 You should not keep some for yourself
 If you keep the offering you are cheating God
 God is not happy when I am not honest.
Respecting other people’s items

 When you find a lost item , you should try to find the owner
 If you cannot find the owner give the item to the teacher or your parents
 When you are honest you live peacefully with other people.

Thankfulness

Thanking God for creating me.

 I should thank God for creating me

 I am special to God
 I thank God by praying
 I also thank God by singing
 When I do good things,God is happy.

Thanking God for other people

 I should thank God for other people

 I thank God for my parents. They take good care of me
 I thank God for my teachers. They help me to learn
 I thank God for my friends. They help me and make me happy.

Forgiveness

The story of the unforgiving servant

 A servant owed the king money

 The servant was unable to pay
 The King forgave him
 The servant was owed money by another servant
 The other servant was unable to pay
 The servant refused to forgive his fellow servant
 The king was angry with the unforgiving servant
 The king put the unforgiving servant in jail

Forgiving others

 When we do wrong,we say sorry

 We should also do something to show we are sorry
 We should always forgive others when they do wrong
 We can do bad things when we do not forgive
 God will not forgive us if we do not forgive others
 When we forgive we feel good.

Trust

People you can trust

 We trust people that we know

 You trust your family members,teachers and friends
  You can trust your church leaders and the police
 When you are in danger you should report to the people you trust.
 You should not trust people who hurt you
 You should not trust strangers

Talking about others

 Gossiping is talking about others when they are not present

 Gossiping makes other people unhappy
 It can make people quarrel and fight
 Gossiping can end friendship
 We should not talk bad things about others.

Responsibility

Personal cleanliness

 You should keep yourself clean and neat

 When you are clean you do not get some diseases
 You also do not get lice and bedbugs
 You should be responsible for your personal cleanliness

Correcting others

 Sometimes other people behave badly

 You are responsible when you tell them to stop behaving badly
 If they do not, you should report them
 God wants me to correct people when they do wrong.

Working at home

 My parents do a lot of things for me

 They take me to school, give me food and buy me clothes.
 I should help my parents with work at home
 I can help to wash my clothes,I can clean the house.
 I can also take care of plants and animals
 When I work at home,I should not ask for a reward
 I make my parents happy when I help with work at home

Topic 4: THE CHURCH

Prayer

The lord’s prayer

 There are different prayers that we can say

 Jesus taught His disciples the lord’s the
 The lord’s prayer has everything I need to tell God
 I should say the lord’s prayer every day

Showing respect to God during prayer

  I should show respect to God when I pray
 I bow or kneel when praying
 I close my eyes or look down when praying
 I should not put my hands in the pocket

The Holy spirit

The coming of the Holy spirit

 Jesus promised to send his disciples Holy spirit

 The Holy spirit come to the disciples and other believers on the day of pentecost
 The Holy spirit came in the form of tongues of fire
 They all received the Holy spirit and spoke in different languages

The fruits of the Holy spirit

These are some of the fruits of the Holy spirit

 Love
 Joy
 Peace
 Patience
 Kindness
 Goodness
 Faithfulness
 Gentleness
 Self control

The work of the Holy spirit

 The Holy spirit helps me to do good things

 He helps me to live in peace. He helps me to love others and be kind
 When I have the Holy spirit,I have joy
