MULTIMEDIA

1a. Multimedia refers to the use of multiple forms of media—such as text, images, audio, video, animation, and
interactive content—to present information or create engaging experiences. It combines different types of content
to enhance communication, learning, and entertainment.
1aii. Linear Multimedia
 Linear multimedia refers to content that follows a fixed sequence without user interaction.
Multimedia System
 A multimedia system is a computer-based system that creates processes, stores, and delivers multimedia
content.
Multimedia Authoring
 Multimedia authoring is the process of creating multimedia content by combining different media
elements using specialized software.
Multimedia Design
 Multimedia design refers to the planning and creation of multimedia content, ensuring it is visually
appealing and effective for communication.
1b. A Multimedia PC (MPC) is a computer designed specifically for handling multimedia content, such as images,
audio, video, animations, and interactive applications. It typically has enhanced hardware and software features to
support high-quality multimedia processing.
2a. Multimedia software refers to programs and applications used to create, edit, play, and manage multimedia
content, including text, images, audio, video, animation, and interactive elements.

6. Blender – A 3D modeling and animation software for creating multimedia projects.
Linear Multimedia
Linear multimedia refers to content that is presented in a sequential or fixed order. The user does not have the
ability to change or control the sequence of events. The experience is like watching a movie or reading a book,
where the flow of content is predetermined by the creator.
Non-Linear Multimedia
Non-linear multimedia allows the user to choose the order or interact with the content in a way that changes the
experience. The user has the ability to skip, jump to different sections, or explore content based on their
preferences. This kind of multimedia provides a more interactive and customizable experience.
