Supermarkets vs. Traditional Markets: A Comparison

Traditional markets offer fresh products but suffer from poor quality control and sanitation issues, making shopping unpleasant. Supermarkets provide a more pleasant shopping experience with higher quality products and organization, but at a higher price with no bargaining options. Ultimately, the choice between the two depends on individual preferences for cost versus experience.

Back in the day, people would go to traditional markets to get goods.

The products there

are usually fresh because they would bring them directly from the countryside. But due
to lack of control and contribution from the authorities, the experience of shopping in the
traditional market has become unpleasant due to the concerning situation of the market.
Although the products are fresh, we would often find low grade quality products being
sold. The traditional market also sometimes smells very pungent and very dirty, it is
because of their lack of waste management system inside the building.

From that people try to come up with new ideas for a better shopping experience and
one of them is the supermarket. But this comes with positive and negative aspects.
Supermarkets offer various products with pleasant experiences. Supermarkets always
have high grade products, a much larger supermarket also sells imported products. You
don’t have to worry about a pungent scent or dirty floor because you would never find
such a thing in the supermarket, each item there is sorted according to their types so it
would be easy for you to look for specific things. But with that also comes a much
greater price and you could never bargain to get a lower price.

Either way, I think supermarkets have a huge impact on people's shopping experience
and it could be interpreted in many ways. But each market has its own advantage and
by the end of the day it depends on what situation you are in. If you need to save more
money, you can go to the traditional market. But if you prefer a pleasant experience,
then the supermarket is the place to go.
