 peak of your vocal recording must be no louder than -6dB or -10dB
 Set the seen (Be relax)
 Hydration (drink water before and after recording)
 Warm up your voice
 Focus in emotional intent (capture whatever emotions and place
them in your vocals)
 Embrace MISTAKES (its okay to make mistakes and easy to
overcome them)
 EXPERIMENT with different takes (record your takes in different tones
and emotions)
 Break down your songs Section by Section (record sections
separately and piece them together)
 CELEBRATE small wins (Every step is a victory, nailing vocals and
sections is always another step closer to becoming great)
 Take moments to see what you can do or apply or need while
recording and mastering

What is comping?
It is a recording technique used to assemble the best parts from
multiple takes into a single seamless performance

Eg. Cutting parts of multiple takes and making it as one

Have multiple takes and select parts which suit the recording best

would be the best

LOCAL issues: If there are any


words or phrases which might

looking further into it and think
about comping certain words

BREATHS: Fade down breaths during the comping process

CLICK: same as the breaths you could also remove mouse clicks and any
other issues

PROBLEM AREAS: revisit any problem areas and get rid of it

Time Aligning
Time aligning is used to synchronize
different vocal takes to ensure they play
in perfect time.

Its basically based about where each


vocal take or cut out is places to
achieve a perfect timed track.
The Degree of time Aligning varies in
which type of Genre is being used.

Genres like Pop, Trap or Drill require


Tight time aligning.

Whilst Others like Rock or Jazz require


Even a mixture of time aligning.
