A motivated, experienced Developmental Paediatric Consultant, I am registered with GMC in the Specialist Register
since February 2019. I teach and train postgraduate and undergraduate students at St Georges University Hospital
NHS Foundation trust. I have extensive experience in Developmental Paediatrics, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity
Disorder (ADHD), Special Educational Needs and “Looked After” children. I have worked as a Lead for Special
Educational Needs in Wandsworth area, and I am a GMC Educational and Clinical supervisor. I act as a reference
and have supported CESR applicants to the GMC, one doctor achieved the CESR and two waiting the result of their
applications.

Audits & Recent Quality Improvement Projects

Audits
• Audit in unaccompanied asylum seekers, formation of a local pathway with Infectious diseases colleagues
• Supervision of medical student in Audit in sleep difficulties in children with developmental problems and
associated comorbidities
• Supervision of a medical student in Audit in uptake of local support for children with behavioural difficulties in
the Early intervention clinic for new cases referred for ADHD assessment.
• Audit to compare the breach dates of the initial health assessments set by the social services and the Looked
After Children team, I found that more than 90% were set earlier by the social services and the trust was
penalised for that, this was presented to the CCG, currently a reaudit of the same data is being taken and will be
compared with the previous data, no slides provided, mentioned in my latest appraisal.
• Audit in Accident and Emergency department fluid treatment of gastroenteritis against nice guidelines at King’s
College Hospital, I made changes in the parents’ information leaflet given on discharge to the families
• Audit in PDA management in neonatal intensive care unit this was to compare our outcomes and management
plans; I have removed the Indomethacin from the local guidelines, because it was obsolete and using it was
stopped.
• Audit in safeguarding issues form the consultant sign off, this was in the middle of the cycle, it is a trust wide
audit and I presented it in the Paediatric clinical governance meeting.

Recent Quality improvement projects (QIPS):

• Special Educational Needs assessment is a statutory process need to be completed in six weeks by health
professionals, to make sure that we are able to meet these time limits, I completed an audit comparing the
number of clinics provided by the trust and the current new referrals, the result was shared with management
and the number of clinics increased and we recruited junior doctors under supervision to do the extra clinics.
This helped in covering the need and helped the junior doctors to gain training in SEN.
• I updated the Neurodevelopmental Guidelines in our area, this went through the guidelines committee and
uploaded in our trust intranet. This gives clear guidance about the referral pathways and which child we need
• I filmed videos directed to the vulnerable teenagers during COVID-19.
• Self-assessment project in special educational needs written medical advice from other specialties to check if
we are meeting up to date standards, shared with colleagues in the care group, as a result, changed the clinic
template used, completion of the audit cycle will start June 2024
• Participating in termly multidisciplinary deep dive process with Education, Local authority, social services,
schools, therapy services and Parents
• Renewal of the Local offer page in Special Educational needs SEN clinic information for the local authority.
Which helps families and children with need to access the available support in the local area.
• Creation of Service Operation Procedure for the Special Educational needs service medical.
• Annual Participation of the National trainer GMC survey.
• Monthly participation of the British Paediatric surveillance unit to notify about rare cases, which helps to identify
them and study them to improve their management nationally.
• Supervision of production of classroom teacher’s advice for children with ADHD.
• Production of Special Educational needs information leaflet for families to be sent with the clinic letter invite
• Completing service audit for Special Educational needs as part of the Integrated Care System work.
• Updated training and guidelines in how to write Medical Educational health care needs assessment report which
can be easy read for parents, schools and social services. This is part of digitisation process in the next 10 years
NHS long term plan.
• Identified the need to improve the SEN service and formed a business plan alongside the deputy general
manager to request more funding to improve the timeliness and efficacy of our service.
• Supervised junior doctor to ADHD information leaflet for teachers to support children with ADHD in the
classroom.
• Created a pathway in Unaccompanied Asylum Seekers (UASC) management which is uploaded to St George’s
intranet, March 2018, this included baseline investigations and assessments. This will benefit junior doctors
who work in both acute and community settings.
• I created a teaching feedback form, in 2015, which is used by doctors at Sunshine House, St Thomas’ hospital.
This can be used in e portfolios and appraisals for doctors of all grades.

• I attended several study days and training activities, and I am up to date in level 3 safeguarding training.
