STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
This research will assess the Influence of Social media utilization on students'
emotional well-being at Cebu Technological University—Main Campus during the
Academic Year 2025-2026 as the basis for an action plan. Specifically, this answers the
following question:

1. What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of:
1.1. Age and gender;
1.2. Year level;
1.3. Course or program enrolled;
1.4. Types of social media platforms used; and
1.5. Average time spent on social media per day (in hours).
2. How do students use social media in terms of:
2.1 Frequency of use;
2.2 Main purpose
2.2.1 academic,
2.2.2 Socializing;
2.2.3 entertainment;
2.3 Time spent per session;
2.4 Level of engagement (e.g., posting, liking, commenting, sharing); and
2.5 Perceived dependence on social media.
3. What is the perceived emotional well-being of students in terms of:
3.1. Stress levels;
3.2. Anxiety and mood changes;
3.3. Self-esteem and self-perception;
3.4. Social interactions and relationships; and
3.5. Academic motivation and productivity.
4. Is there a significant relationship between social media usage and students’ emotional
well-being?
5. What program can be proposed?
