General Information

1. Purpose

Targeted for tourism officials and industry professionals of Korea’s fellow


countries, this program aims to support in tourism industry and strengthen
tourism-specialized competencies by sharing Korea’s experience of tourism
industry development. It contains following sectioned programs:
 2015 Cultural Tourism Forum (Nov 9-10, 2015)
 Training Program (Nov 11-20, 2015)
 Hotel Service Training Program (Nov 11-Dec 9, 2015)

2. Qualification
Total 5 tourism leaders in a country can be invited as following conditions:

(1) Government : 1 Director General (head of delegation) and 2 working


level officials. Officials may include local government and other
government sectors such as National Tourism Organization, or
National Tourism Research Institute, etc.
(2) Travel Agency : 1 Specialist recommended by the government,
who has at least 5 years of working experience in the tourism field
(3) Hotel : 1 Specialist from a five-star hotel recommended by the
government (housekeeping, food & beverage, banquet staff; or
marketing, sales, pertaining departments’ staff), who has
at least 5 years of working experience in the hotel business
(4) Target countries (total 15 countries)
 Asia: Vietnam, Indonesia, Mongolia, Cambodia, Bangladesh,
Philippines, Laos, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand
 Europe: Uzbekistan
 South America: Colombia, Paraguay, Peru

4. Requirements
 All participants should have Basic English communication skills, at
least who can understand lectures and carry out basic conversations.
 Head of delegation, or a representative of participants (who has a
good command of English), should take charge of close
communication with the Secretariat.

5. Benefits for invitees

6. Registration
 Please fill out and send the registration from with a copy of passport
to traininginkorea@[Link] by Sep 30, 2015.
 All registration process should be completed including flight booking
and VISA process no later than Oct 16, 2015.

7. Accommodation
 The Westin Chosun Seoul will be the venue and official hotel for the
Forum. The venue and hotel for the subsequent training programs
will be informed soon.

The Westin Chosun is located in the heart of Seoul, where Prince Go-jong, the twenty-
sixth king of Chosun Dynasty, was known to perform a Jesa (traditional ceremony to
honor royal ancestors) at the end of 19th century. Since first established in 1914, it was
used for guests of state, dignitaries, foreign officials, and high-class social and political
gatherings. It is well-known for its coexistence of history and modern, as well as
business-optimized circumstances.

 Participants : 75 invitees from overseas countries
- Korean guests will attend the forum and official sesions also.
- Simultaneous interpretation between Korean-English will be provided.
 Requirements: Country Report
① Head of delegation or anyone who represents his/her delegation
should give his/her country reports within 10 minutes.
② This presentation should focus on as follows:
- General information of each country;
- Any changes or innovation in tourism policy after 2014 Cultural Tourism
Forum and Training Program in Korea;
- Trends of your countries’ tourism policy
③ Presentation file should be submitted by Oct 24, 2015. PDF or
Powerpoint files are acceptable. Detailed information and
templete will be sent.
