How to Set Up 2-Factor Authentication
with Duo Mobile
1. Go to [Link] Click on “Campus &
Online”. Then click “BYU-Pathway Worldwide Login”. Continue by logging in
to your account.
2. Click “Start Setup”.
3. Click the option most appropriate for your situation. Click “Continue”.
4. Enter your phone number. Verify that the phone number you entered is
correct by checking the box. Click “Continue”.
5. Choose the type of phone you are enrolling from the list and click
“Continue”.
6. Make sure the Duo Mobile app is installed. Click “I have Duo Mobile
installed”.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions to scan the barcode.
8. Click “Continue”.
9. Use the “When I log in:” drop-down menu to choose which authentication
method you’d like to use automatically. Click “Continue to Login”.
10. You’ll be taken to the main 2FA screen. This is the screen you’ll see every
time you need to authenticate. Click the box next to “Remember me for 30
days” to save your authentication for that Internet browser, and that
device, for 30 days. Then click “Send Me a Push”.
If you do not have access to the Duo Mobile app, you can select the Call Me
or Enter a Passcode options. If you have a smartphone, use the Send Me a
Push option.
[Link]'ll receive a push notification asking you to verify that you are the
person currently trying to access your account. Open the notification and
tap the green checkmark.
You're now set up with 2FA and logged in to your account. You'll only need
to do this when logging in to your BYU-Idaho account from an off-campus
network, and only every 30 days per device and browser.
If you receive a notification (like the on below) when you are not trying to
log in to your account, it means that someone is trying to get into your
account. Open the notification and tap the red X to deny the request, and
make sure to change your BYU-Idaho password as soon as possible.
