Tanishka (someone who is passionate about sports)
Hritvi (a student who struggles with balancing sports and studying)
Marushika (someone who believes in the importance of sports for mental health)
Shreya (someone who thinks sports aren’t a priority during exams)
Tanishka: Hey, guys! I’ve been feeling so great lately. I managed to squeeze in a quick skating
session this morning before studying . It’s amazing how much energy it gives me for the day!
Hritvi: That sounds awesome, but I don’t know how you do it. With exams around the
corner, I feel like every second counts. Sports just seems like a total waste right now.
Marushika: I get where you're coming from, Hritvi, but I actually think sports are more
important during exam time. They help with stress, keep our minds sharp, and honestly, I
can’t imagine going through exam season without my daily jog.
Shreya: I don’t know, Marushika. I mean, I get the whole stress relief thing, but isn’t it better
to just focus on studying? We don’t have time to waste on sports right now. I’d rather just
study non-stop.
Tanishka: Yeah, but think about it! If we’re locked in our rooms all day, staring at books, our
brains are going to get fatigued. A quick workout, even just for 20 minutes, can really help us
reset.
Marushika: I agree! A study published in NeuroScience in 2016 found that short bursts of
physical activity help with memory and learning. The researchers showed that even 20
minutes of moderate-intensity exercise could significantly improve cognitive performance by
enhancing the ability to retain and recall information. This is important during exams when
focus and memory recall are essential. You know, after a good workout, I always feel more
refreshed and ready to tackle those piles of notes.
Hritvi: But it’s so hard for me to find the time. It feels like once I get into the groove of
studying, I can’t afford to stop. I’m always thinking, “What if I waste time and fall behind?”
Shreya: Yeah, it’s all about time management. If you’re not careful, you can lose track of
your priorities. I personally don’t believe in taking breaks for sports until exams are over. I’ve
always just crammed and it worked… sort of.
Tanishka: "Sort of" ?! Come on, Shreya, you can’t be serious. The best approach is balance.
It’s not about doing less work, it’s about doing it more effectively. Regular exercise helps you
stay focused and reduces burnout.
Marushika: And remember, you don’t have to go all out. It could be something as simple as
a short walk or a 15-minute stretch routine. Trust me, taking that break won’t derail your
progress. In fact, it’ll probably make your study time more efficient.

Hritvi: umm, I never thought of it like that. Maybe I could try adding some light exercise into
my routine.
Shreya: I guess that doesn’t sound too bad. If I could manage just a little movement and not
feel guilty about “wasting time,” it might help me keep my energy up.
Tanishka: See? It's all about perspective! Plus, sports can be fun. So, it's not like you’re doing
something miserable. You might actually look forward to it!
Marushika: Exactly! Even if it’s just a quick bike ride or some yoga, it’s a mini reset that can
help you stay on top of your game in the long run.
Hritvi: Alright, I’m in. I’ll try a quick workout during my study breaks this week. I’ll let you
know how it goes!
Shreya: I’m still skeptical, but I’ll give it a shot. Maybe I’ll even try a light jog, but no
promises!
Tanishka: Deal! And no matter what, we’ll all get through exams together. Sports or no
sports!
