Concept Note: Smart Mobility
Web Application for Delhi
Theme: Devising Innovative Solutions to Alleviate Traffic Congestion in Delhi with
Special Focus on Parking and Traffic Rule Compliance
Rationale: Delhi faces severe traffic congestion, inefficient parking management, and
a lack of seamless public transport integration. These challenges increase travel time,
contribute to air pollution, and reduce overall urban mobility efficiency.
The proposed Smart Mobility Web Application aims to:
1. Integrate real-time data from traffic, parking, and public transport.
2. Use AI & ML models to suggest the fastest, most cost-efficient transportation.
3. Incentivize the use of public transport by offering credits redeemable for metro
& bus travel.
4. Enable real-time ticket booking (metro, bus) and smart ride-hailing (cab, auto)
through AI-driven recommendations.
By leveraging existing Delhi government policies and smart city infrastructure, this
solution will promote sustainable urban mobility.
Existing Government
Policies Supporting
This Solution
❖ Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS): AI-
driven traffic signals and smart monitoring to reduce
congestion.
❖ Parking Management Rules 2019: Regulates
unauthorized parking and introduces dynamic pricing
for better space utilization.
❖ Delhi EV Policy 2020: Encourages electric vehicle
(EV) adoption to reduce pollution.
❖ Common Mobility Card & Online Ticketing: Delhi
Metro and DTC buses support digital payments,
enabling seamless integration with the app.
❖ Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) Real-Time
GPS: Public buses now have live tracking, which can
be incorporated into the platform.
