Tyler's Redemption: A Basketball Journey

Tyler is a former college basketball star who was headed for the NBA draft until he was imprisoned for burglary 6 years ago. He is now out on parole and returns to the local basketball gym where he hopes to regain his skills. As Tyler trains alone on the court, sinking shots and dunking impressively, he is watched from afar by a manager from the local D-League NBA team. The manager approaches Tyler, clapping in approval, which leaves them both staring at each other in suspense.

INT. TYLER'S APARTMENT, WEST COAST HOOD - DAY Over the shoulder shot facing the television A man is sat in his living room watching a basketball game, this man is TYLER, he is dressed in TRACKIES and a DU RAG and he is seating comfortably with his feet up. A nice play is run in the game. Over the shoulder shot reverse (wide and close up) Tyler looks at a photo of him and his college basketball winning team. Tyler picks up a can of coke, takes a sip and finishes the coke in the can and tosses the can carelessly. Wide shot

INT. LOCAL BASKETBALL GYM - NIGHT

Tyler slowly walks through the halls of the gym. He gets his phone from his pocket TYLER

INT. LOCKER ROOM, LOCAL BASKETBALL GYM NIGHT Tyler steps unto the basketball court, takes off his hat and drops his sports bag in amazement. A flashback occurs. Extremely Wide shot

INT. LOCAL PRISON HALLWAY - NIGHT

Tyler is escorted by 2 PRISON WARDENS in HANDCUFFS to his cell

Long shot (from behind)

TYLER 6 years ago I was a top player in the NCAA college basketball league. I averaged 9 blocks and 7.2 rebounds per game in my last season. Damn I was good. I was eligible for the NBA draft that year and hell yeah I woulda been drafted. But then I messed with the wrong crew. Got involved in bad things. I was jailed that year for burglarizing.

Scene cuts back to the basketball gym.

INT. LOCKER ROOM, LOCAL BASKETBALL GYM NIGHT

Tyler puts on a MIAMI HEAT JERSEY and knots his shoelace in preparation for the training session

Medium shot (upper body)

INT. COURT SIDE, LOCAL BASKETBALL GYM - NIGHT

Tyler walks unto the basketball court, ties up the adjustable sting on his basketball shorts and attempts some SUICIDES as some type of warm up

Medium shot (lower body)

TYLER I could have been in the NBA By Now.

He starts attempting some jump shots. Unknown to him a MANAGER of a local D-LEAGUE NBA Team watches from afar.

Extremely wide shot (over the shoulder)

He casually takes some far shots sinking them in one by one as he moves closer to the basketball [Link] sweats as this happens.

TYLER Don't doubt me though. Imma make it to the NBA Somehow Match on action (low angle shot) Tyler performs a classic NBA type slam dunk. The manager is overwhelmed as he watches from afar. Tyler finally notices him as he turns back after the dunk. The manager claps as he is impressed

MANAGER Well done Mr. Jones. I'm impressed

They both stare at themselves in suspense
