Sept. 21, 2022

Orientation Day
Today is the first day of our teaching internship. My cooperating school is Governor Ferrer
Biclatan Annex, which is located in Brgy. Biclatan, General Trias, Cavite. We arrived at school
at exactly 9 in the morning. And because most of the key teachers are assigned to the afternoon
class, we have to wait for them for a little while. We are a total of 25 students deployed in
Biclatan annex, which consists of math majors, social studies majors, English majors, and, of
course, Filipino majors. The orientation per se happened in the computer room of the school.
We were glad to meet the school head of Biclatan Annex, Madame Principal, Ms. Ruanto, and
she gave us a short briefing about their school and the school guidelines and etiquette. She is
very welcoming and accomodating, especially to us, who are considered "newbies" in the
teaching field. After the general orientation, we are instructed to go to our respective faculty and
department to meet our cooperating teachers. The grade levels that were assigned to me were
grades 7 and 8. And the special part here is that I was the luckiest one to have two cooperating
teachers. One for grades 7 and one for grades 8. At first, I was very overwhelmed and a little bit
nervous because two grade levels require two different preparations as well. But I saw it as an
advantage to learn more and experience the beauty of teaching with my two cooperating
teachers. I was given three sections to handle for the whole semester. So my schedule will be
grade 7 for the first week, grade 8 for the second week, and so on. These are the things that
happened during my first day of teaching internship. Next week, we are tasked with doing the
actual teaching and lesson preparation. I'm looking forward to the more exciting parts of my
teaching journey.

Sept. 22, 2022

Observation Day

Today is the second day of my teaching internship at GFMNHS-Biclatan Annex. I got to observe
one class of my cooperating teacher, which is the Grade 7-Narra, which is one of the three
classes that are assigned to me. I got to introduce myself to them and check their attendance by
calling their names one by one. After that, my cooperating teacher discussed the assigned
lesson for that day. After the class, we attended the meeting for the discussion of the IDEA
format Learning Exemplar. The key teacher of the Filipino Department, Ma'am Regielyn
Chavez, discussed the different parts of LE. I am somehow familiar with the IDEA format of
learning exemplar because we already encountered and were tasked with doing that in our
previous cooperating school, which is Bulihan Integrated National Highschool. The explanation
of LE was very precise and detailed. That's why I think I can already make one for my daily
lessons. That concludes my second day of my teaching internship. I was assigned to facilitate
the grade 7 exams on Monday and Tuesday, and on Wednesday and Thursday, which are my
scheduled days for proper lesson teaching.

Sept 27, 2022

Tuesday
Today is the third day of our teaching internship. My task for today is to facilitate the long test of
students. I was assigned to facilitate the exam of three sections in grade 7. At first, I introduced
myself in front of the class. The class set for this day is set B. I gave them the instructions
before taking the exam. It was a great experience for me to facilitate the exam because I
already observed the behavior of the students. Some of the students take too long in answering
the exam, and some students take it as easily as they can. In this activity, I have learned that as
a teacher, you really have to facilitate the exam very well and guide them by giving clear
instructions. You really have to watch over them for them to refrain from talking to their
seatmates and refrain from copying. After facilitating the exam for three sections, I then
checked their quizzes for me to find out their average score per section. Each section has a
diverse student body. Some students got high scores, and some students failed the exams.
Overall, students did their very best for their first long quiz for first grade.

Sept 28, 2022

Wednesday
Today is the fourth day of our teaching internship. Today was supposedly the assigned date for
my first discussion of the lesson. But unfortunately, because of the typhoon and cancellation of
classes last Monday, it has been moved to tomorrow, Thursday. What I did today was to
continue giving long tests to the students of Set A. I facilitated their exam and checked it
afterwards. Some of them got pretty high scores, and some failed the exams. After checking
their quizzes, I then realized that most of my students had difficulty in some parts of the exams.
By going over their papers one by one, I was able to see which areas they struggled with the
most and which areas they found the [Link] of the highlights of my today's internship is
when one of my students in Grade 7-Guijo gave me a letter for teacher's day. I am very
overwhelmed with the letter. Finally, I got to experience receiving a letter from one of the
students It is such a wholesome experience for me. After that, my cooperating teacher talked to
me about NG lesson exemplar and in preparation for my tomorrow's discussion. I am very
blessed with my cooperating teacher, Ma'am Kath, because she is very hands-on in handling
me and always reminds me of the do's and dont's when teaching. That sums up my day 4 of
practice teaching.

Sept 29, 2022

Thursday
Today is the fifth day of our teaching internship. I could say that this is one of my most
memorable days in my whole teaching internship journey. Today is my first discussion of the
lesson for my three sections which I will handle. I prepared and waited for this time for almost a
week. I am very excited and, at the same time, very nervous about this moment. I have three
classes for today; Grade 7 Narra, Accacia, and Guijo. My first discussion of the lesson was
smooth, and my students were very cooperative as well. The only advice from my cooperating
teacher was to reduce the time in my discussion part because I take too much time explaining
things. Nonetheless, the whole lesson, from motivation to giving them activities, was a good
one. For my second class, I keep track of the time and do what my cooperating teacher tells me
to [Link] same thing with my third class. Overall, my cooperating teacher gave some feedback
and reminders, and she told me that she was happy with my performance and that I could teach
alone for the next few weeks. I am very happy and fulfilled on this day. After so many
breakdowns doubting my skills and capability, I can somehow say that I can teach. But of
course, there are a lot of things that I need to improve and I am very much ready to face them.

September 30, 2022

Friday

Today was the sixth day and the last day of the week. Friday serves as our rest day because
there are classes on Friday. We just need to report to school and do our lesson exemplar. Also,
Friday is the day where we, as practice teachers, can do brainstorming about our lessons, LE,
PPT, and all the rest. We got to talk to each other and help each other with our tasks. It is
essential for a teacher to do feedback with their co-teachers for them to get new ideas, lessons,
and so much more. For this day, I got to finish my lesson exemplar for next week's new
discussion of the lesson. And that's it for my sixth week of teaching internship.

Oct. 3, 2022

This is the third week of our teaching internship. The class assigned for today is set A. Based on
my first few weeks of teaching, set A is less active than set B. That's why it takes a lot of effort
for me to really engage them in activity and recitation. I remember there was a time when I
asked one of my students to read the text written in the PPT and she just refused to do so. As a
result, I try to think of activities and games that will truly engage everyone and make things
more interesting for [Link]'s one thing I have learned in almost two weeks of teaching. On
this day, I just repeated the lesson from the previous week and gave them a group activity. I
have nothing strange planned for this day, but I am very happy that I delivered my lesson very
well.

The second day of the third weekToday is the day where I can proceed to my new lesson.
Honestly speaking, I am not that prepared for this lesson, but I do try my best to deliver it well
for my students. We do the passing of the ball game. And based on the three sections I handled
this day, they really enjoyed the game. Based on my observation, grade 7 students enjoy
activities that include body kinesthetic movements. They are children, after all, who really love to
play. They enjoyed playing while learning as well. Also on this day, I came up with a strategy to
motivate students to engage in class, especially during recitation. I printed out "chips", which will
be given to them whenever they participate in class. They must stick the chips to the back of
their notebooks, and I will collect them at the end of the [Link] that strategy, they will strive
harder to participate in class. That's all for my second day of my third week of internship.

Oct. 6, 2022
Today is the continuation of my lesson about retorikal na pang-ugnay. Nothing usual for this
day, we just had a discussion and I tasked the students to copy the lecture because by next
week we will be having a group activity. Also, next week will be a full blast of face to face class.
Meaning, set a and set b will be combined. I will repeat my lesson so that set A class will not be
left behind. That's all for today's internship.

Oct 7, 2022
Today is the last day of internship for this week. Finally, I survived a long tiring week. My task
for today is to make a lesson Exemplar for next week. I run out of motivational activities for
students. I need to think of activities that will serve as games for students because I have
noticed that they enjoy answering questions in the form of games. Friday is a very chill day. Lest
school works and less task. And that's all for today's internship.

4th week of our teaching internship. Today is not an ordinary day. I'm really not emotionally
okay these past few days. I feel burned out on everything and have a personal problem. But I
have no choice. I really need to teach and do my responsibility as a teacher. I realized that as a
teacher, we really need to set aside our personal issues and be emotionally available for our
dear students. We really need to be okay in front of them, even though deep inside we are not.
On the other hand, today is the full blast in Biclatan Annex. Set A and Set B are combined, so it
is really a challenge for teachers. We really have to modulate our voices, especially since they
are doubled in class. Luckily, I do have a lapel, so I didn't have to compromise my voice. I
survived this long and tiring day. Another day of teaching and hoping that tomorrow will be a
great day.

Today is the second day of fourth week of our teaching internship. We do group activity for
yesterday's lesson. I gave them a quiz bee challenge by group and grouped the whole class in
six groups. They are very much excited with the group activity and very alert in answering the
questions. Classroom management is one of the problem I have encountered for today. I
noticed that they are very noisy when doing group activity. So as I teacher, I need to maximize
their noise and be strict to them so that we will not disturb other class. But all in all, they really
enjoy the group activity and they also got a good score. After the group activity, I gave them a
10-item quiz and I am happy that most of them got a good score from the test. That's all for
today's internship.

Oct. 12, 2022

Today is the third day of fourth week of our teaching internship. I have a new lesson for today
which is "Dula". I am very Happy because my students are very cooperative and participative in
our class discussion. I tasked them to share their personal experiences in front of the class. It is
a very personal sharing discussion to the extent that one of my students cried while presenting.
After my class, we did a post con with my Cooperating teacher. She gave me recommendations
and suggestions. That's all for today.
Oct. 13, 2022
Today is the 4th day of 4th week of our teaching internship. We have no classes for today
because the schedule of classes is from Monday to Wednesday only. It is the time of the week
where we could take a rest and do lesson planning. I only have 3 topics left to finish the le!
1sson for first grading. That's all for this day.

Oct 17, 2022

Today is Monday. I don't have a lesson for today. We just did a group activity wherein students
are tasked to write a script about a family situation that depicts their beliefs and culture in
solving real life situation problem. This activity is part of our lesson which is the "Dula" and they
are supposed to present their script in front of the class but unfortunately because of lack of
time we failed to do so. I am happy and grateful that they are able to write a script and make
dialogues. The only problem I have encountered for today is that they are very noisy when
doing group activity. But after all, I manage to minimize their noise and they finished the script
on time.

Oct 18, 2022

Today is tuesday, discussion of new lesson and topic. My topic for today is all about research. I
gave students a play called Guess the gibberish as a part of motivational activity. I can say that
this game is effective for the learning process of my students. Before my discussion, I gave
them a 20 item quiz about the lesson that we tackled last week. After checking their papers, I
am very disappointed with some students who got 4/20. I reminded them yesterday to study
beforehand because we will be having a quiz for today. But on the other hand, there are
students who got perfect score and some got 2 or 3 mistakes only. I am very much happy that
most of my students got high scores and they really pay attention during our class discussion.

Oct. 19, 2022

Today is the continuation of my topic from yesterday. I discussed the lesson about "Mga
Hakbang ng Pananaliksik." I hope that my students learned about this topic because it will be
included in their periodic exam. Also, I am very happy because my section, Guijo, finally has a
television, which we can use for our discussion. The three sections I handled have television, so
there's no gap in learning. That's all for today's internship.

Oct. 24, 2022

Today is marked as the sixth week of our teaching internship. Seven weeks to go and we are
finally finished. Today is the periodical exam for my dear students. My schedule for today is
9:20–10:20, which is the grade 7 acacia. They answered the test paper 20 minutes before the
time. I think they take the exam as easily as possible. I must say that I discussed all of the
coverage of the exam. That's why my students can really answer all of the questions. After
giving the exam, me and my co-practice teachers in grade 7 make Learning Exemplars for
second grade. We need to prepare all of these because next week will be the second grade of
the school. New grade, new lesson. That's all for today's internship.

Second day of our sixth week in teaching internship. It it still the periodical exam in our school.
The section assigned to take an exam for today is Grade 7 Narra and Grade 7 Guijo. It is the
usual examination day, my cooperating teacher gave them the instructions and then they
proceed on answering the exam. One thing I noticed during the exam is that some of the
students had a hard time reading and following the instructions. It's like you already said to them
what to do and then after a minute they will repeat and ask questions. As a teacher, you really
have to extend your patience to these kinds of students. After all, the periodical exam of my
dear students was a successful one.
