Observations:
Atmosphere: The church was warmly lit, with soft music playing in
the background. A sense of calm and reverence permeated the space
as members settled into a quick meet and greet, entering into a
smaller room at the back of the church.
Group Dynamics: Participants greeted each other warmly,
exchanging handshakes and smiles. There was a palpable sense of
community and belonging. Members then quietly prayed next to each
other, some out loud placing hands on others’ backs and, in the air,
creating a supportive environment.
Prayer Focus: The Executive Pastor, Jonathan, introduced himself and
thanked everyone for coming. He stated we should begin to pray for
anyone who needs it. He asked if there were any specific prayer
requests. Some stated prayers for cancer and other diseases while
others requested prayer for mental strength. The group centered their
prayers on the love of God and its manifestation in their lives and the
lives of others. Many expressed gratitude for personal blessings and
prayed for those in need, emphasizing compassion and connection.

Interview: I spoke with a man named Emmanuel who was new to the
church and from Haiti. He was in his late 60’s and had a small family in
the area. I asked what brings him here and he stated, “We are all God’s
people.” He is here to pray for his family, the people of Haiti, the
people of the United States and to bring peace and love to a healthy
disease-free community. He stated, “Give glory to God” and pray for
ones in need so that everyone may be blessed. He loves this church
because of the people and devotion to Christ it brings.
Community Spirit: Throughout the session, members shared their own intentions and
prayers, echoing Emmanuel's sentiments about helping others. The group collectively
prayed for those in need, fostering an atmosphere of compassion and hope.
Closing Ritual: The session concluded with a collective prayer, hands
joined, reinforcing unity. Members encouraged one another to carry the

Setting: Upon entering Church in the Son, a pleasant atmosphere enveloped visitors,
characterized by the uplifting sounds of gospel music performed by the worship team at
the front. The vibrant melodies set a tone of joy and anticipation for the service.
Initial Atmosphere: The interior was warmly lit, with members greeting each other
enthusiastically. The congregation was engaged in fellowship, exchanging smiles and
greetings as they found their seats.
Opening Remarks: Lead Pastor Alex commenced the service with a thoughtful message
that emphasized the importance of community and faith. His warm demeanor and
approachable style fostered a welcoming environment that encouraged participation.
Guest Speaker Introduction: Pastor Alex introduced Chris Mikkelson, an evangelist
known for his global outreach efforts. The congregation’s response was enthusiastic,

I had a chance to speak with Chris. I thanked him for the message he spoke of today and
asked him what brought him to evangelism. He stated it was a sign from God. He spent
three years training by the ministry of Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke and now travels to the
broken places of the world to bring hope and restoration in Christ. He also introduced me
to his bodyguard (prior special forces) and wife, Amanda. I informed him I am currently
training as a chaplain in the military and he and his bodyguard prayed over me for
spiritual, physical and mental guidance to stay safe and be with God through the process.

spirit that characterized my previous experiences. As I stepped through the
entrance, I was greeted by Jerry, a familiar face, who opened the door for me
with a welcoming smile. His gesture immediately set a tone of hospitality
