II. RATIONALE: (Includes Location, Target group, Details of Intervention, and Context of the evaluation)
The COVID-19 pandemic took the world by surprise. Globally, everything has stopped. Projects have been delayed,
workplaces closed and schools shut down. This pandemic has led to unprecedented levels of disruption to
education, impacting all the childrens in school. The world seems to have ground to a halt because of the
coronavirus. However, students continue their education at home.
Homeschooling (also referred to as home-based learning), is an educational process where parents or tutors teach
children at home, instead of having them formally educated in a public or provided school setting. Families choose
to homeschool because the world is in pandemics. We are facing this crisis and one of the affected groups is our
students.
Every child has a right to learn to read and every child requires literacy skills to open up life choices and
opportunities. They also has the right to learn about the disaster public preparedness and engagement.
Disaster preparedness consists of a set of measures undertaken by governments, organisations, communities or
individuals to better respond and cope with the immediate aftermath of a disaster, whether it be human-made or
caused by natural hazards. The objective is to reduce loss of life and livelihoods.
Being prepared can reduce fear, anxiety, and losses that accompany disasters. Learning about this can reduce the
impact of disasters (flood proofing, elevating a home or moving a home out of harm's way, and securing items that
could shake loose in an earthquake) and sometimes avoid the danger completely. Thus, I would like to request and
propose a home teaching program for kindergarten and grade school students of Prk. Magsaysay, Brgy. Katipunan,
[Link]ño South Cotabato at Fajagutana residence. This project will help kindergarten to learn how to listen quietly,
follow directions, and cooperate with others. They will also learn reading and writing skills. Children will learn the
alphabet, letters, corresponding sounds, and sight words. They will also begin to write about themselves and write
stories as part of class projects. In civics, students will learn to prepare for potential disasters, thereby reducing the
impact of said disaster. I would also like to propose a home decorating project to improve the quality of life of the
residents. Living in a lovely environment improves one's quality of life. When a person enjoys a good quality of life,
they are happier and are relieved of various pressures linked to their safety and well-being.
III. OBJECTIVES:
The objectives of the activity are the following:
1. To provide knowledge among students to take actions to reduce their vulnerability to disasters.
2. To teach children play word games, talk about word meanings, and point out interesting or new words when
reading and develop learning skills.
3. To make our home more comfortable and appealing.
IV. EXPECTED OUTPUT:
