4.5 Assembling guidelines

All parts of the system assembled with screws and
nuts are tightened with a specified torque. In the User
interface, some of the screws are also secured with
threadlocking adhesives as noticed during
disassembling.

In order to maintain these specifications over time, it

must be ensured that after any service intervention
removed parts are re-assembled and secured
according to instructions. Make sure to follow the
guidelines stated below.

4.5.1 Tightening torque

• Thread size M3: 0.95 Nm ±15%

bullet
• Thread size M4: 3.1 Nm ±15%
bullet
• Thread size M5: 5.0 Nm ±15%
bullet
• Thread size M6: 7.0 Nm ±15%
bullet
• Gas inlet nipples: 20 Nm ±15%
bullet

4.5.2 Threadlocking adhesives

• Electrolube® Bloc'Lube BLV15ML on threads in

bullet
contact with PC boards.

• Loctite® 243 on all other threads.

bullet

Note: Threadlocking adhesive is not required on

Heli-Coil® screw thread inserts as these screw
thread inserts have a self-locking function.

4.5.3 Special grease

Lubricants should normally not be used when servicing

the unit. If lubricants must be used, use only very small
amounts of grease with P/N 95 73 700. This special
grease is O2 compatible.

WARNING! Due to the increased O2

concentration in valves and gas
channels, only special grease intended
for use in high O2 concentrations, is
permitted.

O2 concentration low 1. Perform a Pre-use check and follow the recommended

actions if the check fails.
O2 concentration high 2. Connect an external gas concentration measuring
instrument to the inspiratory outlet to get a reference
value:
There are two main reasons for these alarms:
- If the reference value differs from the set O2
concentration, this indicates a gas delivery error.
• Gas delivery error - Wrong gas concentration is delivered
bullet
from the system, but the gas concentration is measured - If the reference value corresponds to the set O2
correctly. concentration, this indicates a measurement error.
• Measurement error - Correct gas concentration is
bullet
delivered from the system, but the gas concentration is Gas delivery error – Recommended actions
measured incorrectly.
1. Check gas supply; concentration and pressure. See gas
supply requirements as stated in the User’s Manual.
Also note that:
- Gas supply with incorrect O2 concentration may
cause gas delivery error.
- Insufficient gas supply may cause short intermittent
pressure drops and instable O2 concentrations.
2. Replace nozzle units:
- If O2 concentration high – Start with nozzle unit in O2
gas module.
