I- Hull Girder Bending Moment

١ A ship 140 m long has a rectangular cross section of 20 m beam and 13 m depth. The total
weight of the ship is 25830 tonnes, 20830 tonnes of which are uniformly distributed over the
entire length of the ship; the remaining 5000 tonnes are uniformly distributed over a length of 10
m with its centre of gravity amidships. Calculate the still water bending moment. And hence
repeat the same problem distributing the 5000 tonnes over two intervals each of 5 m, one of
them fore and the other is aft. And compare between the two conditions.
