7 NEWS A harrowing story of young women who suffered sexual abuse
PRESENTO in Maguindanao. The young women is mentally disabled who
R was raped by her uncle. The tribal council recommended that
the victim's family be compensated. The uncle gave them a
horse and P6, 000 in exchange for silence. After the violence
that occurred the girl was raped again, this time by a neighbor.
After she became pregnant, the tribal council suggested she
marry her rapist to save face for the family.

9 NEWS Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos challenged Chinese
PRESENTO Premier Li Qiang over recent clashes in the South China Sea at
R regional summit talks on Thursday, as fears grow that conflict
could erupt in the disputed waterway. Li met the leaders of the
10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
at their gathering in Laos after a day of discussions dominated
by the Myanmar civil war. Recent months have seen a spate of
violent clashes between Chinese and Philippine vessels in
waters around disputed reefs and islands in the South China
Sea. ASEAN earlier said that it aims to finalize a code of
conduct in the South China Sea by 2026, a document which
would determine how claimant countries could peacefully
resolve disputes in the strategic waterway.

PRESENTO winds and torrential rainfall. Less than two weeks later,
R Hurricane Milton has roared through the state, mercilessly
hampering recovery efforts already underway. The storm leads
out to multiple flooding, gasoline shortage, temporary closing of
airports and power outage. There are 14 confirmed deaths after
two hurricanes in 13 days. The government in that place
advises the people to stay inside their houses and wait for
