I had lots of ideas at the start of the project, when it came to my
ideas Generation and choosing a product I considered Lindt
chocolate, Kfc and of course, dissorano velvet which I eventually
settled on. I knew from the start I wanted to create a smooth and
luxurious advert that reflected the product well and incorporated a
lot of colour theory into my ideas Generation.
My idea for this advert was to appeal to the audiences emotion and
use persuasive techniques such as Pathos. I wanted to appeal to the
audience's emotion as my research suggests that adultnare the
target audiense and their kids are rising the popularity. Because of
this I wanted a narrative advert.
When it came to equipment I was excited to use (insert equipment
used) . I learnt to use cameras R10 and 6D and of the two I think I
prefer the R10 as it's lighter and the controls are easier to grasp.
When it came to the voice over I asked my friend to speak while I
held the gun mic. I chose the gun mic as I wanted clear sounds and
no background noise.
I think filming went really well and I was happy with the shots
overall, I particularly liked the shots of the product as well as the
black and white effect to sell the feeling that this product can bring
colour to your life. When it came to editing I ran into soke difficulty
syncing the sound and visual however I'm happy with what I was
able to accomplish.
When it comes to improvement I would definitely change the
lighting a bit, it was definitely too dark and while I tried to adjust it in
post production and editing i still think it's too dark so if I was able to
re-film that I think I would.
In terms of challenges I struggled with Premiere pro, it kept lagging
so I had to copy, paste and redo a lot of it. I struggled with colour
correction and fixing the lighting which frustrated me a lot. I'm
happy with how it came together in the end and I was able to find
lots of help online and with my lecturers.
When it comes to skills I definitely think I did well with working with
the camera and understanding the controls. When I was first
learning to use the cameras I was good when it came to the Iso and
shutter speed however I did struggle setting the white balance as
the colour would always co,e out too saturated however I worked
and messed with the settings at home and was able to figure it out
myself. I found the sound equipment quite easy to work with and it
was relatively simple so I didn't struggle too much there.
Overall I do think I met the project brief as I was able to create an
engaging and fitting advert for my product. I struggled with
premiere pro and I definitely wished I was able to adjust the lighting
but I'm happy with what I've created and I'm enthusiastic to start
the next project.
