37 Read the following and answer the questions given bellow.
Matter can be classified into two categories: pure substances and
mixtures. Pure substances are made up of a single type of particle and
cannot be separated into other substances by physical methods. They have
definite and constant properties. On the other hand, mixtures are made up of
two or more substances that are physically combined and can be separated
into their individual components. Mixtures can be further classified into
homogeneous and heterogeneous mixtures. Homogeneous mixtures are
uniform in composition, meaning the components are evenly distributed
throughout the mixture. Heterogeneous mixtures, on the other hand, have
non-uniform composition with visible different parts. It is important to
understand the nature of matter around us and differentiate between pure
substances and mixtures to comprehend their properties and behavior.
(i) What is the main characteristic of a pure substance? 1
(a) Made up of two or more substances
(b) Cannot be separated into other substances
(c) Has non-uniform composition
(d) Components are evenly distributed. 1
(ii) Which of the following is an example of a pure substance? 2

(iii) What are the two type of mixture?
OR
What is a mixture?
38. Read the following and answer the questions given bellow.
Tissues are groups of cells that are similar in structure and function,
working together to perform specific tasks in the body. There are four main
types of tissues in animals: epithelial tissue, connective tissue, muscular
tissue, and nervous tissue. Epithelial tissue covers the surfaces of the body,
lines the internal organs, and forms glands. It provides protection, secretion,
absorption, and excretion. Connective tissue provides support and connects
different body parts. It includes bone, cartilage, blood, and adipose tissue.
Muscular tissue is responsible for body movements and can be categorized
into three types: skeletal, smooth, and cardiac muscle. Nervous tissue
consists of specialized cells called neurons that transmit and process
information in the form of electrical signals. Understanding the different
types and functions of tissues is essential to comprehend the organization
and functioning of complex multicellular organisms.
1
(i) What are tissues?
a) Groups of organs in the body
b) Groups of cells with similar structure and function
c) Layers of skin
d) Different types of body systems 1
6
(ii) Name the two organs on our body that has nerve tissues.
(iii) What is the function of connective tissue?
OR 2
Which type of tissue is preset in our skin and why is it called so?
39. Read the following and answer the questions given bellow.
Newton’s first law of motion states that a body at rest will remain at rest
position only and a body which is in motion continues to be in motion
unless otherwise they are acted upon by an external force. In other words, all
objects resist a changein their state of motion. In a qualitative way, the
tendency of undisturbed objects to stayat rest or to keep moving with the
same velocity is called inertia. This is why, the firstlaw of motion is also
known as the law of inertia. Answer the following questions.
(i) The first law of motion is also known as 1
(a)law of inertia
(b)law of thermodynamics
(c)both a and b
(d)none of these
(ii) If no external force acts on object which is at rest. it will
(a) remain at rest (b)start to move 1
(c)both a and b can possible (d)none of these
(iii) Define inertia. And state Newton’s first law of motion.
OR
Show that the rate of change of momentum is equal to (mass x
acceleration / m.a ) 2
