II. Project Objective: To assist pupils in transitioning back into face-to-face learning inside the classroom
by improving their psychological well-being.
III. Purpose of the Project: Improve the focus of pupils during class discussion and activities.
IV. Root Cause/s of the Problem: Stress (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder/PTSD) brought about by the
Covid-19 Pandemic and the concomitant conditions ensuing from it, such as quarantines, travel and
mobility restrictions, and other protocols.
V. PROJECT RATIONALE
The pupils of Tumauini West Central School (TWCS) are among the group of school learners greatly
affected by the Covid-19 Pandemic which started since 2019. The health protocols issued by the IATF for
Emerging and Infectious Diseases necessitated extended period of quarantines and isolation which
prevented face-to-face learning in the school proper, within the confinement of the classrooms. As the
DepEd is transitioning back to the classroom setting of teaching and learning, some constraints and
challenges on the part of learners are emerging, i.e., the learners are experiencing difficulty in adapting
to the classroom setting of learning as evidenced by their increased struggle to maintain focus during
class discussion and difficulty in performing individual and group activities. The reading, comprehension
and numerical skills of the pupils are affected because of the aforementioned difficulties encountered by
the learners in the classroom setting. This Project supports and assists the pupils of TWCS to make the
smooth transition of getting more comfortable learning in the classroom setting which will aid the
learners in improving their reading, comprehension and numerical skills.
