CHAPTER III
RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY
This chapter contains the design of research and data collection methods, research
respondents, instruments to be used in research, and treatment of data. Where it is
researchers will use this to identify and solve the issues stated in the introduction of this
research. Assessing the Impact of Environmental Awareness Programs on Waste
Disposal Habits Among Selected High School Students of San Jose Batangas at S.Y
2023 – 2024
RESEARCH DESIGN
This study is focused and limited only to the Selected High School Students of San Jose
Batangas at S.Y 2023 – 2024. The researchers will be using the descriptive design. It
allows the researcher to study and describe the distribution of one or more variables,
without regard to any causal or other hypotheses. With this, researcher-made
questionnaires that will be used as tools in the descriptive design.
RESEARCH RESPONDENTS
The Selected High School Students of San Jose Batangas at S.Y 2023 – 2024, will be
the population in this research. This study will use the systematic random sampling
technique wherein researchers calculate the sampling interval by dividing the entire
population size by the desired sample size determination.
`
RESEARCH INSTRUMENT
The data will be collected through a survey. The parts of the survey questionnaires
contained close-ended questions with choices leading to their responses. The survey
will be crucial for the researchers to perform an evaluation on “Assessing the Impact of
Environmental Awareness Programs on Waste Disposal Habits”. Additionally, the
simple random sampling was used to calculate the sample size required from the
population size of the Junior High School learners.
DATA GATHERING
The primary method that the researchers utilized to collect data from the respondents
were closed-ended questions. In order to proceed with the survey, the researchers will
present letters to the administration and teachers of the school. After obtaining
information from the selected members in order to administer the survey, the
researchers will wrap up their assessment of the study.
STATISTICAL TREATMENT
Descriptive statistics is a method used to describe and summarize the main features of
a data set in a meaningful way. It provides simple summaries about the sample and the
measures. It forms the basis of virtually every quantitative analysis of data and is
typically broken down into measures of central tendency and measures of variability or
dispersion.
