SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Contents Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding of projectile motion, impulse and
momentum, and conservation of linear momentum
B. Performance Standards The learners should be able to propose ways to enhance sport related to
projectile motion.
C. Learning Competencies/ OBJECTIVES
Objectives 1. Describe the uniformly accelerated motion in horizontal dimension
2. Analyze and solve sample problem

CHOOSE A OR B
Direction: Answer the following questions, which of the choices is correct
units.
A B
1. Velocity 20 m/s^2 20 m/s
2. Acceleration 10 m/s 10 m/s^2
3. Distance 15 m 15 m/s
4. Speed 5 km/h 5 km

Uniformly Accelerated Motion: Horizontal Dimension
C. Presenting examples/instances of the The teacher will ask to read everybody the UAM.
new lesson The acceleration of an object remains constant irrespective of time.
Show the learners a picture that indicates the horizontal motion. Let
the learners observe the illustration shown and ask them what they
have observed.
Observe the picture
1. A ball rolling down an incline.
In the picture a ball is rolling down an inclined plane. So here, when a
ball is at rest always remember that the value of velocity is zero m/s.
D. Discussing new concept and practicing EXPLORE
new skills #1 Activity 1: Calculating Acceleration
INSTRUCTION:
1. Measure the distance between two points.
2. Time how long it takes for an object to move between the points.
3. Use the formula a= Vf-Vi/t
E. Discussing new concept and practicing
new skills #2
Activity 2: Graphing Acceleration
Direction: Analyze the relationship between acceleration and time through
graphing.
1. Plot a graph of acceleration vs. Time based on given data
2. Identify the slope of the graph to determine the acceleration.
3. Discuss the significance of the graph in analyzing motion.
F. Developing mastery (leads to Formative EXPLAIN
Assessment) ACCELERATION- rate at which velocity changes with time, in terms of
both speed and direction. A point or an object moving in a straight line is
accelerated even if it speeds up or slows down. Motion on a circle is
accelerated even if the speed is constant, because the direction is
continually changing.
UNDERSTANDING GRAPH
- Each point on the graph represents one pair of related values in the
data set. A line connects all the points on the graph. A line graph could
have time on the horizontal axis and a variable that varies with time on
the vertical axis for a plot of suitable data points connected by lines.
G. Finding practical applications of ELABORATE
concepts and skills in daily living. For deepening of the lesson, the students will do the activity.
1. From rest a car accelerates at 8m/s^2 for 10s
a. What is the position of the car at the end of 10 seconds?
b. What is the velocity of the car at the end of 10 seconds?
H. Making generalizations and 1. Give a scenario to describe uniformly accelerated motion in horizontal
abstractions about the lesson dimension.
2. When can we say that particular thing is said to have a uniform
acceleration?
I. Evaluating learning EVALUATE
Please get 1/2 sheet of paper and answer Problem 2
2. With initial velocity of 20 m/s a car accelerated at 8 m/s for 10
seconds. What is the position of the car after 10 seconds?
J. Additional activities for application or EXTENDED
remediation 1. Conduct a motion of a sports event, focusing on the acceleration of
athletes during specific movements.
2. Research and present a case study on the role of acceleration in
modern transportation systems.
