Inverter Analysis Assignment - EPM 352s

The document outlines an assignment for a Power Electronics course at Ain Shams University, focusing on inverters. Students are required to simulate a three-phase full bridge inverter with specified parameters using software like MATLAB/Simulink or PSCAD, and analyze waveforms and harmonic spectra. Additionally, they must calculate RMS values and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) for both resistive and RL loads.

Assignment (3)
Inverters
1) A three-phase full bridge inverter with 1800 conduction has a Y-connected
resistive load of R = 50 Ω. The inverter frequency is f0 = 50 Hz. And the dc input
voltage is Vs = 450 V. Without performing any calculations and only using one
of simulation packages (MATLAB/Simulink - PSCAD):
a. Display the waveforms of the load phase voltage, line voltage and phase
current.
b. Display the harmonic spectrum of load phase voltage and current.
c. Determine The RMS of load:
i. Line voltage.
ii. Phase voltage.
iii. Phase current.
iv. Fundamental phase voltage.
v. Fundamental phase current.
d. Determine The THD of load:
i. Phase voltage.
ii. Phase current.
e. Comment on results

2) Repeat problem (1) for RL-load with R = 50 Ω and L = 100mH.
