Reflection 1:
Overall, the essay assignment, which was completed cooperatively by my team members,
followed the suggested themes. This reflection will focus on what we learned from this
assignment as a team. I would like to say that I had wonderful team members who cooperated
and helped finish this assignment within the deadline. All of us put in equal effort and time for the
discussion and assignment. Initially, we had some trouble understanding the assignment, but we
helped each other out and watched previous class recordings to understand it in more detail. We
shared our understandings in a WhatsApp group chat and completed this assignment.
The strengths we observed in this assignment were many. I would like to highlight teamwork as
one of our group's strengths. Normally, for long-distance team members, it is hard to do
assignments in a group. But thankfully, my team members cooperated and put in a lot of effort to
form a strong team by helping each other. Communication played a big role in completing this
assignment properly. Without communication, nothing is possible. My team members also
contributed many ideas to finish this assignment. For example, when writing the collaborative
essay, we needed many points to complete it. We each found points we could contribute and
discussed them in the group chat. If there were any doubts or problems, solutions were provided
immediately.
One of our group's weaknesses was understanding the task given. Initially, the assignment was
confusing for us, and it was hard to explain it to each other according to our understanding.
Somehow, we managed to solve the issue. Another point is time management. Since our working
times are different, it was difficult to set up a time and date for discussion. We all live far apart,
making it difficult to meet up for discussion. Therefore, we had no other choice but to use
WhatsApp as a platform for group meetings and calls. We also faced challenges in combining our
points in the essay. It was complicated to combine all of the sentences into one cohesive essay.
However, we worked together and found a solution by using Google Drive, giving every team
member access to combine their sentences according to the previous point.
There were some mistakes identified by ChatGPT, mostly about verb tenses and grammar errors.
For example, we changed "taking" to "took" to show the past tense and "in the noon" to "at noon"
for correct grammar usage. We corrected everything with the help of ChatGPT. ChatGPT helped
us to modify our essay and provided ideas on how to write an essay professionally. ChatGPT gives
short and simple answers, making it easy for us to understand sentences and correct them
accordingly.
The biggest challenge we faced, as I mentioned, was understanding the assignment. We
improvised by paying careful attention during class and discussing with each other to gain a
better understanding. Another point was dividing the workload. As a solution, we listed the tasks
that needed to be done in the WhatsApp group and assigned them to each team member. We
divided the tasks equally so that there would be no disappointments or misunderstandings within
the group.
In conclusion, we have learned a lot from this assignment and improved our ability to find the
best solutions. Working in a team teaches us to share the workload equally among team
members, allowing us to complete assignments faster and more efficiently. I believe "many
hands make light work," and with that, we successfully finished our assignment.
