Topic 1: Telecommuting
Telecommuting has become an integral part of the rising debate in the
present world, including in Vietnam. It’s believed that a growing number
of people are choosing to work from home. In the following essay, I’ll
discuss some advantages before mentioning some disadvantages of the
trend.
On the one hand, there are many reasons why telecommuting is
beneficial. To begin with, the first benefit of this trend is a better work-
life balance. This is because of the fact that employees can be proactive
about their working hours. As a result, they can spend extra time with
their family. An additional advantage is saving a lot of time on
commuting. For instance, workers will feel more comfortable when they
have more time to do things like eat breakfast or drink a cup of coffee
before going to work without having to waste time commuting.
On the other hand, there are several disadvantages of telecommuting that
people should take into consideration. One of the main drawbacks of the
trend is lack of community and teamwork. This is because workers have
less chance to interact and communicate directly with their co-workers
and customers. Another drawback of telecommuting is home
distractions. For instance, workers easily get distracted by things like
movies, online games, or household chores. They cannot concentrate
entirely on their work and this will negatively affect their work
performance and productivity.
In conclusion, telecommuting has become a crucial part of our life. I
believe that there are both advantages and disadvantages of this trend
that people should take into consideration.
