Day 1
Green Park Station - walk down Green Park
- See Buckingham Palace (Changing of the Guard Mon, Weds, Fri at 11am)
- Walk through St James Park (there is a play area for kids with SAND). Ducks come
out onto lawn and lots of squirrels around so really pretty.
- Walk through park and towards Westminster Abbey (can pay to go inside)
- See Big Ben
- See Houses of Parliament
- Walk up Parliament Square - pass Downing Street (Prime Minister House)
- Continue walking up Parliament Square to Trafalgar Square
- Visit The National Gallery, it's free! Van Gogh, Leonardo da Vinci, Monet and
many famous artists
- Visit St Martin-in-the-Fields church (off Trafalgar Square) - they do free
concerts so you can check what day you're going to see what's on.
Day 2
PICCADILLY CIRCUS STATION OR GO TO COVENT GARDEN AND DO THIS LIST IN REVERSE
- Walk up Regents Street to see Hamleys Toy Store if interested
- Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain (Iconic Statue & Victorian Landmark)
Walk down to Leicester Square
- M&M World, Lego Store and famous statues placed around the Square (Paddington
Bear, Mr Bean, Wonder Woman, Batman, Mary Poppins, Harry Potter, Bugs Bunny and
Laurel and Hardy
- Walk to China Town (5 mins)
- Walk through Soho
- Walk to Covent Garden - Transport Museum is cool and also play areas for kids to
enjoy
- Covent Garden Market/Piazza dates back to 17th Century
Day 3
ST PAULS - you can book to go to Sky Garden for free on this day as it is close. It
is 160m high and offers a 360 degree view of London
- Mass at 12:30 in St Pauls Cathedral, Free. Can pay to see more of the Cathedral.
- Walk to Leadenhall Market (15mins). Dates back to 1321 and situated where the
centre of Roman London was.
- Walk to Garden at 120 Fenchurch Street, free (views of London)
- Walk to St Dunstan in the East Garden Church, built in 1100 and Grade 1 listed.
Damaged in 1666 Great Fire of London
- Can see the London Wall.
- Walk to Tower of London - can pay to enter. Has the Crown Jewels. Or take photos
from outside.
- Cross over Tower Bridge
- HMS Belfast - can pay to enter - It is a surviving WWII-era cruiser in service
from 1939 until 1963.... or just take photos outside
- Borough Market (best to visit Weds to Saturday). Famous street food market.
Day 4 SOUTHWARK STATION
- Walk to Tate Modern - Modern Art from 1900 to present date. With work from David
Hockney and Andy Warhol
- Walk along The Thames or get an Uber Boat to Southbank Centre... lots fo street
entertainers on the way
- Go to Jubilee Gardens - nice play area for kids and squirrels everywhere!
- Go on London Eye if family want but it is EXPENSIVE and I think a waste of
money :)
- Sea world and London Dungeins is also near here if you wanted to visit, but
expensive
Day 5
RUSSELL SQUARE STATION
- British Museum, Free! Has the Rosetta Stone and lots of things the British stole
from countries around the world -_-
- Walk to Coram's Fields - huge play area for kids and nice area to sit
- Walk up to Tottenham Court Road (or tube) and walk down Oxford/ Bond Street up to
Marble Arch... you'll pass 2 huge Primarks and loads of other shops
-If you have time, can visit Hyde Park
Day 6
MARBLE ARCH
- Walk through Hyde Park - lots to see and play areas for kids. Princess Diana
Memorial Fountain, Speakers Corner.
- Harrods - World's Leading Luxury Store
Could add this day with below if you start early :)
Day 7 (Good for when it is raining)
SOUTH KENSINGTON STATION - Walk to Exhibition Road
- Natural History Museum, Free! Has Dinosaurs, Mammals, Volcanoes and Earthquakes
- V&A (World's Leading Museum of Art and Design), Free!
- Science Museum, Free! Has a nice play area for kids and is interactive
Day 8
CAMDEN
- Visit the market
- Eat some street food
- There is an indoor funfair called Babylon
- Can take a cruise on Regent's Canal on a waterbus
- Have a pint in a pub
- you can take a bus and take a photo outside Abbey Road studios. Really famous as
The Beatles recorded there and album cover is on the zebra crossing outside it.
Day 9
- Portobello Market and Notting Hill
- Maybe add in Holland Park here too. Has the lovely Japanese Kyoto Garden with big
Koi Carp fish. Also in Holland Park, is a huge playground area for the kids :)
- There is The Design Museum which is free to enter nearby
Day 10 WEMBLEY
- Go to outlet
- Nice play area for kids
- Lots of places to eat and drink
Day 11 BAKER STREET
- Visit Madame Tussauds (paid)
- Walk to Regents Park (nice flowers and play area for kids)
- London Zoo is nearby
Day 12 STRATFORD
- Westfield shopping centre
- The Olympic Park - ride the slide at Arcelormittal Orbit 11-3 (Paid)#
- Do a boat tour or swan pedalo
- Kids can play in Tumbling Bay play area
Day 13 GREENWICH
- National Maritime Museum (nice play area for kids but might need to book
beforehand) and Queens House are free to visit
- Vintage shops and street food market
- Cutty Sark (paid)
- Greenwich park is nice to walk around and also has a playground
- You can take the bus to O2 Arena and walk around there for shopping/ eating
Day 14 Richmond Park and Kew Gardens
- Never been but heard both are really nice. Kew Gardens is not free
Day 15 Windsor? Never been but heard it's nice
Day 16 Hampstead Heath. Nice play area and view of the city. Kenwood house is also
free to visit
Without the kids:
Theatre - Six and & Juliet are really good. Book of Mormon is amazing but not sure
if your familia would like? Maybe Lion King but expensive. [Link] normally
have good deals though for Theatre tickets.
If your sister likes Harry Potter, then visit the platform at Kings Cross Station
and Harry Potter shop. You also have the paid Warner Brothers Studio near you in
Leavesden
