Multiport DC-DC Autotransformer Design

This paper introduces a multiport DC-DC autotransformer designed to connect multiple high voltage DC systems at a reduced cost, achieving a 50%-80% reduction in converter costs compared to traditional DC-AC-DC technology. The proposed system allows for direct electrical connections between DC systems, minimizing the number of required power converters and associated losses. The technology aims to facilitate the integration of existing and new HVDC systems, enhancing operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness in DC power transmission.
