COURSE DESCRIPTION
 This course provides comprehensive knowledge about
management information systems with five main sections:
(1) Information systems in global business, (2) E-business
and collaboration, (3) Information systems, organizations,
and strategy, (4) IT Infrastructure and emerging
technologies, (5) Developing information systems in the
organizations. Also through this course, students can
practice problem solving in management and business
administration, which requires a combination of theoretical
knowledge about information systems and skills in using
application software.

management and decision making.
- Classify information systems applied in business.
- Explain the process of developing information systems.

ASSESSMENT AND GRADING


 Class Participation: 10%
 Attendance: 7 points.
 In-class activities:
- Having correct answer: +1 point
- Making individual presentation: +2 points
 Each unexcused absence: -1 point.
 Mid-Term 1: 20%
 Mid-Term 2: 20%
 Final Exam: 50%

Teaching Methods:
At home:
 Students are asked to read teaching materials in advance
before going to class in order to understand the main
contents as well as the main objectives of the document.
At school:
 The first session: Group Presentation + Discussion (Group
Presentations + Discussions will contribute to Class Participation
score.
 The last session: Mini Test (the average score of all Mini Test will
contribute 50% of Mid-term 1)

Teaching Methods:
 Those who do not take the Mini Test, the Mini Test will be
counted as 0 point. Those who are allowed to retake the Mini
Test, the maximum Mini Test score will be 9 points (minus 1
point for not taking the test on time).

 Those who have total score, including 7 points + bonus points


for having correct answers + group presentation – points due
to unexcused absence (no more than 1 time), >=15 will be
considered for addition to score of Mid-term 1 (just in case the
score of Mid-term 1 is lower than 9, and in this case the
maximum score of Mid-term 1 will be 9 points).
