(OBJECTIVE)
These are the things that we’re going to do this afternoon, everybody
please read, objective letter a, boys…. How about girls… and for the last
one everybody read. Now are you guided students? Very good.
Okay class so before we proceed to our lesson lets have an activity first. I
want all of you to participate because after this, I will be giving a prize to
those who participated. So our activity today is called (turo sa students)
very good it is called “4 pics, 1 word.”
I will group you into three, this will be the group 1, group 2 and group 3.
Okay listen class, I will be reading a statement that portrays this 3 group of
pictures and the leader of your group will raise a hand if you want to
answer. The group that raises their hands first has the chance to answer,
okay understand? Okay very good so lets start.
o Permission - the act of allowing someone to do something, or of
allowing something to happen.
o Prohibition – the act of forbidding something, especially by law.
o Obligation – the act or course of action to which a person morally or
legally bound; a duty or commitment.
Okay very good class, everyone got the correct answers please around of
applause. So now
1. What have you observed with the activity? Yes Ms. Sofiya?
Very good it seems like a rule or law.
2. What do you think these pictures are trying to tell us? Yes Ms.
Rosemika? Very good the picture tells us about permission,
prohibition and obligation.
3. In connection with our topic last meeting which is the Modal
Verb, what do you think is our lesson today? Yes Mr. Jalil? Very
Good our topic today is all about Expressing permission,
prohibition, and obligation using Modals.

Okay so to express permission, prohibition, and obligation, we usually used
Modal Verbs. So how do we express Modal of Permission?
Since we already have an example of Modal Verb can, Ms. Nasima can
you give me an example of sentence using the modal verb May. “May I go
out.” Very good. How about you Ms. Raida, can you give me an example of
sentence using the modal verb Could? “Could you please pass the
cookie?” Very good.

on our discussion, class? Okay none so far, so it seems like you already
understand our lesson then let’s proceed on our next activity called “Acting
Out Modals.”
With the same group which is the group 1, 2 and 3. I will assigned you a
topic, for group 1 your topic is Permission, for the group 2 prohibition and
for group 3 your assigned topic is obligation. Listen, what you’re going to do
is please read…… Okay so I will give you 10 minutes to prepare and after
that you will perform it in front of the class.
