OVERALL REFLECTION
During my ten-day work immersion at the National Museum of the
Philippines on PMS Office, I had the opportunity to learn invaluable lessons
about workplace behavior and professionalism. I am extremely grateful to
the supervisors for guiding us for the knowledge and generously shared by
the PMS employees, and I am fully committed to applying the newly
discovered skills and knowledge in my future endeavors. Work immersion
is undeniably a highly beneficial subject for senior high school students, as
it offers simulated and practical experience in a real workplace. This work
immersion experience left me feeling empowered, allowing me to approach
the real world with confidence, courage, and determination.
REFLECTION ON THE EXPERIENCE
At the beginning of my work immersion, I felt nervous and unsure of what to
expect. Fortunately, I had the courage no matter what to do, when we met
our supervisor and the other staff, their warm smiles and warm welcome
made me feel at ease. They patiently answered our questions about our
work and regularly checked in on how we were progressing. Our main
responsibility is to organize GATEPASS DOCUMENTS FILES and so on,
and well as scanning old documents that can be recycled to create digital
copies. Although I had hoped for more varied tasks, I found these duties to
be challenging. Examining each folder, at first it felt overwhelming, and
doubts arose about the completion of the task. However, through
cooperation, we successfully accomplished the task. Throughout our work
immersion, I applied the knowledge and skills I gained in school. The
experience at the NATIOAL MUSEUM OF THE PHILIPPINES provided me
with valuable and practical skills that will undoubtedly benefit my dream
future. I am grateful for this opportunity and am excited to use the
knowledge I gained working at the NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE
PHILIPPINES in my future endeavors.
SELF- APPRAISAL
Work immersion has been a valuable experience for me,
providing me with valuable knowledge and skills that will greatly
help me in my future endeavors. This gave me an experience of
what I can expect when I go to work in a field related to my
chosen strand or college degree. Overall, I am proud to say that I
performed well during my work immersion because I fully
dedicated myself and applied the knowledge and skills I gained
from my teachers, particularly in terms of professional ethics,
communication, and behavior.
Although I have gained significant learnings, I am fully aware that
I still have a lot to know and learn. That is why I am determined to
pursue a college, because it will give me more opportunities to
expand and further understand my knowledge, gain more
experience, and develop additional skills. By doing so, I will be
better prepared for my chosen dream future.
The National Museum's Logo is a stylized baybayin
(Philippine Script) of “pa” the first syllable of pamana (heritage).
NATURE OF A BUSINESS
The Mind Museum in the Philippines is a center for education and
tourism, playing a significant role in preserving and displaying the
country's historical treasures. It aims to inform and educate
present and future generations about the rich heritage of the
Philippines. The museum houses collections related to
anthropology, ethnography, archaeology, history, and visual arts,
among others. It offers various activities such as permanent and
temporary exhibitions, guided tours, discussions, seminars, and
atelier trainings. The museum also serves as an academic
institution, providing knowledge, skills, and training to students,
while also giving cultural and historical accounts of Nueva Ecija.
DESCRIPTION OF THE SERVICE / PRODUCT
OFFERED
The National Museum of the Philippines' Fine Arts service offers a
diverse array of exhibits showcasing Philippine artistry, culture,
and heritage. From traditional to contemporary pieces, visitors
can explore paintings, sculptures, and other forms of visual art that
reflect the richness and diversity of Filipino creativity throughout
history. Today, the building as the National Museum of Fine Arts, is a
home to 29 galleries and hallway exhibitions comprising of 19th century
Filipino masters, National Artists, leading modern painters, sculptors, and
printmakers. Also on view are art loans from other government institutions,
organizations, and individuals.
THE TARGET CLIENTE
The target clientele for the National Museum of the Philippines' Fine Arts
section includes a broad spectrum of individuals interested in art, culture,
and history. This can range from residents and tourists to students,
scholars, artists, and art enthusiasts seeking to explore and appreciate the
rich artistic heritage of the Philippines.
HISTORY
The National Museum of the Philippines' Fine Arts section has a rich history
dating back to its establishment in 1998, although its roots trace back to the
early 20th century with the establishment of the National Museum itself in
1901. Originally known as the National Art Gallery, it was envisioned as a
space to preserve and showcase the country's artistic heritage.
VISION
A Filipino nation, unified by a deep sense of pride in their
common identity, cultural heritage, and natural
patrimony, and imbibed with the spirit of nationalism and
strong commitment to the protection and dissemination of
legacy.
MISSION
The primary mission of the National Museum of the
Philippines is to acquire, document, preserve, exhibit, and
foster scholarly study and appreciation of works of art,
specimens, and cultural and historical artifacts.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Preservation -To safeguard and conserve Philippine artworks, artifacts, and
cultural heritage for future generations.
Exhibition- To curate and present exhibitions that showcase the diversity
and richness of Philippine artistry and culture.
Education- To provide educational programs and resources that engage
the public, students, and scholars in the study and appreciation of
Philippine fine arts.
Research- To conduct research and scholarship on Philippine art history,
contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
Outreach- To engage with diverse audiences, including local communities,
schools, and tourists, through outreach programs, events, and
collaborations.
International Collaboration -To foster collaborations with international
institutions and promote Filipino art and culture on the global stage.

A trust of the Government is an educational, scientific, and
cultural institution that acquires, documents, preserves,
exhibits, and fosters scholarly study and public appreciation of
works of art, specimens, and cultural and historical artifacts
representative of the unique cultural heritage of the Filipino
people and the natural history of the Philippine.

Day 10: April 19, 2024, Friday
It was our day ten and last day working in NATIONAL MUSEUM. Our
supervisor assigned us to work in their office. Today I was assigned to receive or sign in
any department. Before breaktime, Ma'am Salem and our classmates went to our
department to take pictures on our last day and Ma'am Banjji and Ma'am Dyl took
pictures with us. We went to the museum with my classmates and Ma’am Salem to walk
around and take pictures.
