L.L.M students will come to the United States on a J-1 visa. The J-1 visa includes a two-year home country physical presence requirement. Candidates may not apply for residency at the end of the program. Applicants who have participated in any previous program on a J-1 visa must have completed the two-year home country physical presence requirement before the start of the L.L.M program. As a condition of this L.L.M program, candidates will be required to return to their home country to complete 2 years of public service. The J-1 visa requirement for two years home country physical presence requirement is included in this public service requirement. No requests for visa extensions, waivers, or transfers will be granted, except in cases when further stay in the United States is required in order to complete the L.L.M program.

Legibly print or type complete and accurate answers to all questions. Some questions may require further explanation on a separate page. Application must be signed and dated. An official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score from The Educational Testing Service, sent directly to Ohio Northern University College of Law. The institution code for ONU is 1591. A 300 word essay describing your interest in public service, rule of law and democratic governance. This statement must also describe your future plans for the implementation of law reform and democratization in your country. 3 Letters of Recommendation. (Please see attached form) Law school transcripts or other official record of completion of legal education and licensure as an attorney. Transcripts must be analyzed and grades converted to a standard 4.0 grading system. Applicants must order a Comprehensive Course-by-Course Report from World Education Services.
