Brief Note on IPLC meeting
The IPLC (Industrial Power Liaison Committee) is a committee constituted with the EHT
Industrial consumers of Kerala and KSEBL. The Committee constituted as above provides a
platform for addressing the power related challenges faced by our industrial sector. The
primary objective of the committee is to create a platform where the concerns and issues
regarding power availability and the services rendered by KSEBL, can be discussed openly
and constructively. The aim is to identify and implement suitable remedies that will not only
resolve the existing problems but also enhance the overall efficiency and reliability of power
supply to our industries.
In addition to addressing current issues, this committee will also focus on analyzing and
adopting new advancements in the energy sector. By staying at the forefront of
technological innovations and best practices, we can ensure that our industries are
equipped with the latest solutions for their energy needs, thus driving growth and
competitiveness.
Presently, there are 32 EHT Industrial consumers in KSEBL having an annual consumption of
approximately 1288MU. The consumption comes to 4.7% of the total consumption of KSEBL.

The average cost of supply (ACoS) for the year 2023-24 was approved by the Commission as
Rs 7.16/- per unit. It can be found that the tariff fixed on the EHT Industrial category is well
below the ACoS.
General issues taken up by EHT consumers
A single window clearance system for addressing the issues of EHT Industrial
consumers.
Delay experienced in processing and approval of Solar Projects.
NOC issue for Short Term Open Access to be made quarterly instead of monthly.
