Ordinal Numbers
1. First, second, third, etc are ordinal numbers.

2. We use ordinal numbers to talk about the order things or people are in, for example in
a competition or a race.

3. Most ordinals are formed by adding -th to the end of the number:
tenth, twentieth, sixty-seventh, hundredth, and so on.

4. 5 ordinal numbers have special spellings that we need to memorise:

1 = first
2 = second
3 = third
5 = fifth American British

12 = twelfth
