Step 2: Analyzing the Salient Parts of the Learning

Plan

Identify and describe the common parts of the two

learning plans you have read. Write your
observations below.

Essential Parts of a Learning Plan

Based on what I have read; the common parts of

the learning plan are as follows:
1. Student Objectives/Learning Outcomes - These
represent the particular skills needed to achieve
the learning competency. They form the basis for
developing lessons, assessments, and instruction
that can be demonstrated to align with your overall
course or lesson objectives. When creating your
lesson objectives, remember that having specific
goals makes it easier to measure student success.
In the context of lesson planning, you can employ
the SMART criteria to establish your lesson
objectives:

Is the objective specific?

Is the objective measurable? Is the objective
attainable by all students?
Is the objective relevant to your class and
students?
Is the objective time-based to align with your
syllabus?

2. Daily Procedures - This provides a detailed

description of how the lesson will unfold in the
classroom. The lesson procedure consists of clear,
step-by-step instructions that guide you through
each aspect.

3. Instructional Materials and Resources Required -

This pertains to the inventory of materials and
resources required to facilitate the lesson and
evaluate student progress. This segment prepares
you to present your lessons on a regular basis. The
materials needed for each lesson are contingent on
what you intend to teach, how you will teach it,
and how you will assess lesson objectives. As a
result, numerous teachers create their list of lesson
materials concurrently with their lesson procedure.

4. Student Assessment - This denotes the act of

assessing students' skills and accomplishments. It
is a continuous and daily practice in every
classroom, crucial for successful teaching as
indicated in the learning plan I reviewed. The
ultimate goal of this assessment is to gauge the
extent to which students have grasped the content
taught, taking into account the manner in which
information was presented.

To create a learning plan in collaboration with a

learner, the initial step is to determine their
learning requirements. Once these requirements
are identified, learning objectives can be
formulated and a plan can be devised to attain
these objectives. The learning plan should
encompass the specifics of what will be learned,
the approach for learning, the timeline, the criteria
used to evaluate the learning, and the method for
validating the learning. A learning plan is most
effectively developed by the learner with the
guidance and assistance of a mentor or facilitator.
