Don’t Be Confused!
The words nevertheless and nonetheless can be used interchangeably. Both words are used to show a contrast or
difference between two ideas. For example: I don’t like the taste of vegetables. [Nevertheless/Nonetheless], I eat
them every day because they are nutritious. The word nevertheless is used more often than nonetheless. The word
however has a similar meaning, and is more common than both nevertheless and nonetheless Come up with a
