Foundation for Wellness in Young Children
A school-based physical activity
Is a program to improve health and fitness in children aged 6–13 years. Childhood obesity is the result of a long lasting imbalance
between energy intake and energy expenditure. A major contributing factor is physical inactivity which is closely linked to bone
health, cardiovascular disease risk, fitness and psychological factors. The school seems to provide an excellent setting to enhance
levels of physical activity (PA). However, there is insufficient data from previous school-based intervention trials on how to
enhance overall PA. [Link]
Wellness for children initiative
The goal of the Wellness for Children initiative is to create awareness of the need for children and young people to be actively
involved in their own wellness. Through holistic practices of mindfulness, meditation, energy medicine, movement and
nutrition, one project we want to move forward is creating a series of lesson plans that can easily be adapted to kindergarten
and school programs and youth services. [Link]
Promoting children's health and well-being
Well-being isn't just for grown-ups! Physical, mental, emotional, and social health are all equally important and contribute to our
overall wellbeing. It is important that parents, educators, and caregivers foster all four in children from an early age. Adults can
help improve children's well-being and foster their connection to their own health and well-being by being good role models for
children and helping them develop positive thinking and behavior patterns. These vital skills can help children respond to
stressors and prioritize their health throughout their lifetimes.
Five practices to improve children's well-being:
1. Physical Activity
Exercise and physical activity are essential for everyone, including children. Exercise has been shown to improve
mood, reduce stress, and improve sleep.
2. Technology time
Limiting screen use for preschool children, ages 2 to 5, to just one hour a day. Setting clear and consistent
guidelines from an early age makes it much easier to reinforce these limits with school-age children.
3. Foster positive relationships
Developing positive relationships with others is very important for children's well-being. The benefits of time
spent with friends and family are numerous. This is how children learn to listen, share, compromise, and develop
their conflict resolution skills.
4. Sleep
Sleep is when your child's brain and body rest and recharge for the next day. Ensuring your child gets enough
sleep each night is one of the most important practices you can develop as a parent. It is never too late to
establish a bedtime routine.
5. Build resilience
This past year has been a masterclass in
resilience for many of us. Resilience helps us get through life's hardships and learn and grow along the way. The
ability to learn from mistakes and accept feedback, be persistent, and not give up easily will help maintain
positive well-being in children and teach them valuable skills for adulthood.

Earlychildhood Developmentand Health
The first years of life are critical for the physical, emotional and intellectual development of a child. Early childhood is the
most crucial time in a child’s life. Before age 5 our brains develop faster than during any other time in our life, and we
develop physical, mental, and emotional foundations for our entire life ahead. Investments in parents and their young
children are highly effective and among the most cost-effective methods used to prevent future high spending on health
and poverty alleviation services. [Link]

Ece 002 Health, Nutrition, And Safety
A. Nutrition and healthy in the Early Years.
1. Discuss Nutrition and health in young children.
- Good nutrition is super important for little ones. They need a mix of foods like fruits, veggies, grains, and proteins
to grow right. Think colorful meals! Calcium helps their bones, iron is good for thinking, and vitamin D keeps bones
strong. Try to cut down on sugary stuff. Moving around and playing a lot is great too. Regular check-ups with the
doctor keep an eye on growth and health. Keep it simple, colorful, and active for happy, healthy kids.
2. What is the importance of health and nutrition in the early years?
- Health and nutrition in early years are super important because they help kids grow strong, be smart, and stay
healthy. Good food gives them energy, helps their brains work well, and builds strong bodies. It's like the fuel they
need for a great start in life!
3. What is the current trend of children' health safety and nutrition?
- The Negative Effects of Technology on Children is one of the trends i saw in the Internet. With children spending
more time typing or tapping on a screen, they’re naturally spending less time outside or engaged in physical
activities. Research has also found that children and adolescents may engage in more mindless eating while
watching TV or playing video games. As a result, we’re seeing increased obesity rates in children and adolescents.
4. What is the relationship between children's health safety and nutrition.
- The relationship between children's health, safety, and nutrition is interconnected. Proper nutrition is essential for
healthy growth and development, supporting the immune system, and preventing various health issues. Safety
measures, such as childproofing environments, also contribute to overall well-being by preventing accidents. A
balanced approach to nutrition and safety is crucial for promoting optimal health in children.
[Link] the factors that influence childrens health safety and nutrition.
- The factors influencing children's health, safety, and nutrition include parental influence, socioeconomic status,
educational awareness, access to healthcare, community environment, media impact, cultural practices, and
government policies. These factors collectively shape a child's habits, choices, and overall well-being, emphasizing
the importance of a holistic approach to promote optimal health, safety, and nutrition in children.
