basic operations and their rules:

1. ADDITION

- Definition: Combining two or more numbers to get their total.

- Properties:

- Commutative Property: a + b = b + a

- Associative Property: (a + b) + c = a + (b + c)

- Adding 0 to any number doesn't change its value: a + 0 = a

- Example: 24 + 56 = 80

2. SUBTRACTION

- Definition: Finding the difference between two numbers by removing the

value of one from the other.

- Rules:

- Subtraction is not commutative: a - b != b - a

- Subtraction is not associative: (a - b) - c != a - (b - c)

- Example: 89 - 47 = 42

3. MULTIPLICATION

- Definition: Adding a number to itself repeatedly based on another number.

- Properties:

- Commutative Property: a x b = b x a
- Associative Property: (a x b) x c = a x (b x c)

- Multiplying by 1 doesn't change the value: a x 1 = a

- Multiplying by 0 always gives 0: a x 0 = 0

4. DIVISION
