Reflection (Part I)
As a team, I believe that the project was successful in achieving its aim, since our efforts
in the conference on bullying provided the students at the school sufficient knowledge about its
features, consequences, types and prevention. As an illustration, according to a survey we
conducted in our school, after the conference (Fig.1 and Fig.2), most students were more aware
in how the bullying can bring several consequences for other people, and being more
knowledgeable about actions to handle these cases and have a broader understanding of what
bullying is now. Additionally, one strength was the large number of students who attended the
conference, because it indicates that the message was accessible to most students, from first to
tenth grades. According to the evidence collected (Fig.3 and Fig.4), it was observed that many
students participated in the project, achieving a greater impact to the educational aspect.
Nonetheless, there were also faults. Some students were not paying attention during the
presentation, because it may cause that the objective of the presentation, would not be effective,
as children were not engaged by the talk. According to our evidence (Video), some students,
particularly in the intermediate grades, were not fully engaged, observed by coordinators and
teachers, suggesting a lack of attention on a certain proportion of students. In reference to how to
improve the outcome, it could be improved the presentation, to make it much more interesting
and fun, as well as games with prizes, polls, and reducing the complexity of concepts for young
people.
In particular to my own work on the team project, I had an effective work in terms of
research, due to my investigations about bullying and some of the perspectives of international,
non-governmental and intergovernmental organizations, through reports of them, finding how
bullying is recognized as a major issue in schools worldwide, affecting a higher proportion of
children, owing to unjustified factors that lead them to objects of mockery, and being recognized
as a health issue, causing physical and emotional consequences, by interviews to professional
people of my school about the topic and analyzed their theoretical basis on bullying and planning
in part, our course of action, which was to propose an exhibition to all grades on the topic.
Regarding my management of time, i completed my tasks, meeting the deadlines to them on
time. However, one weakness was the postponement of them, instead of managing to do them in
the days we supposed to advance it, having less time for me to finish them. For this reason, I
would improve my time by using the spaces given of the class to do the tasks, and avoiding any
distractions from the environment, to focus on the team project.
